Prep: lather on face, rinse, then Proraso pre-shave cream.
Brush: No-name brush with a TGN 2-band knot, great brush!
    Soap. La Toja
Razor: Friodur 8/8 with Robert Williams scales
Post-shave: Myrsol Formula K, Nivea balm, Floid Amber

    By blix72 at 2011-07-01

Results: Decent, it was my first time with the 8/8 Friodur and I was a bit intimidated by the huge blade, it will take a few shaves to get used to.

Great shave and quick too. It had been a while since I had used or seen Arko shavestick on SOTD so I decided it was time. Really nice shave.
Very well done GI...I love Arko (just not the scent). Performance is top notch. That Helje ain't bad looking either brother. Ain't the Manantiales EdC grand? I love the stuff. I think I will go Manantiales today too. Thank you for the suggestion.

My God these framebacks usually takes a mean edge, it´s hyper sharp, but it´s also so smooooth that I didn´t feel the sharpnes

One of the cats came in when I was shaving though and telling me to open her door (she´s a talker and she nags loudly
Great looking gear you got there Mikael. That Frameback rocks. And Mark (aka Blugill) would have really appreciated and loved that ER SE. May he RIP. Nicely done.

    Amund,
That Friodur is a MONSTER man...HUGE is an understatement. I bet she came from John and the ShavingShop (he carries those things with the RW scales). He puts on a great edge on a blade. Use her in good health brother and congrats on a great purchase

Great looking razor! I always love seeing all the different marketing tools razor manufacturers used to attract barbers. From "For Barber's Use Only" down to "NON-XL", love seeing the different names!

    Default Friday Morning

Prep: Hot shower – followed by Proraso pre-post-shave cream
SS: MB’s “Lime Ice” Lime and Menthol
    Brush: Vie-Long 12326 “Boar Bristle”
Razor: Merkur 34C HD w/ Merkur Stainless blade
    Astringent: Zirh "Refresh"
ASB: MB’s “Lime Ice” Summer ASB
AS: Aqua Velva Classic “Ice Blue”
    Result: Brrrrrrr…

This is the coolest, refreshing shave I’ve ever had. The Proraso pre-post-shave, plus Mama Bear’s Lime Ice shaving soap and summer aftershave balm as well as the Aqua Velva Classic puts your face in a deep freeze. A welcome antidote to a hot summer day.

Post Week of June 26 SOTD - Friday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 24mm Morris & Forndran, 2-band Silvertip Badger (Bone Handle)
Razor: 13/16" Toyo "Special Razor" Frameback, Swedish "Asaab" Steel, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Honing Regimen: Naniwa 1k, Shapton Pro 1k/2k/5k/12k, Y/G Escher
Strop: 40/60 laps (Neil Miller linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Überlather: La Toja "Manantiales" Shave Soap
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: La Toja "Manantiales" AS
    Cologne: La Toja "Manantiales" EdC
Results: I recently score this beautiful NOS Toyo from eBay and I am in love . Although she's advertized as a full hollow, I think based on her singing that she is an extra hollow. She took an incredible edge using the honing regimen outlined above. Smooth as butter. What a way to start this Friday.

    Have a STUPENDOUS Friday Gentlemen.

A very simple Shave. The Florena whipped up easily into a luxurious cream. The little Prince whacked down the stubble with ease. The Osage, well it doesn't smell the best, but man does it ever feel good. I'm left with a smooth face and a desire to shave again. To me shaving isn't about the end results, it's about the journey one takes to get there. And, the journey has been good.

Great shaves today, Gentlemen. Have a wonderful weekend.

    Finally friday!

    Shave prep: Face wash
    Brush: Omega boar # 81052
Soap: Palmolive shave stick / Palmolive cream / Glycerine
Razor: David Issard frameback "Le Chantecler" 6/8
After Shave Splash: Oriental Spice, house blend
Notes: I rehoned this razor today and shaved right off the oozuku, so Mr Strop just had to look at the show in envy. It gave a surprisingly smooth shave. No nicks, no irritation, truly a great shave. I love spices as well, clove, cinnamon and black pepper over a sandalwood base - I feel great.
