Thanked: 1185Prep: Morning PT, Lukewarm Shower, Baby Oil Gel
Dome Razor: 1962 Gillette Ball End Tech
Face Razor: Boker Red Injun #102
Brush: Omega Boar
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Nivea ASB
Finish: Agua Lavanda Puig Cologne, Firehouse Wacky Tacky
This shave was truly a trip back to my roots. The Ball End Tech came into the world the 4th quarter of 1962 (as did I). The Boker Red Injun was my very first traditional straight razor. The cologne was Frank Sinatra's go to. Although I'm told it came in a much fancier bottle back then. I really like this cologne, very fresh and clean smell but not a lot of linger time. So since I had all this old stuff, a black and white photo seemed approriate. We've also got UK like weather here in the Sunshine State today. Gray, drizzling and pretty ugly outside. A fine day to make a pot of coffee and watch some old movies I've probably seen a hundred times.
The older I get, the better I was

Good afternoon Gents!
Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Omega boar brush
Soap: C&E Nomad
Scuttle: Robert Becker medium
Razor: Dixie Blue Steel by Dixie MFG Co, Union City. 5/8 hollow round point in clear blue acrylic scales.
Honing progression: J-nats (Oozuku w Botan, Tenjou and Tomonagura)
Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Bay Rum, house blend
Notes: Nice, smooth and relaxing afternoon shave here. Brought out the scuttle today, that thing is impressively large and I always can whip up a veritable snowstorm in it. Sun is shining, dinner is on. I think I'll make myself a Mojito and sit in the sun a bit. Good days.
Have a beautiful week guys!

Week of June 26 SOTD - Sunday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger Maxterpiece: 7/8" J.A. Henckels #19, 1/2 Hollow Ground (loose Grind), Spike Point (w/ G10 Lime Green scales) Strop: 45/65 laps (Neil Miller linen / SRD Premium IV leather) Überlather: Proraso Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Proraso AS After Shave Balm: eShave "Almond" ASB Results: Another Maxterpiece day. The Henckels is a super nice razor with fabulously "out-there" scales. Something about her really appealed to me. My wife fell totally in love with her, before I even decided to get it. The Shavemac whipped up a deliciously refreshing lather out of the MWF/Proraso combination. Everything started out right this AM.

Have a BEAUTIFUL Sunday Gentlemen.

You always bring out the coolest vintage blades Max
Jamie,
+1 on the Chubby 2...Great brush indeed. Sorry about the weather buddy, but what as you said what you lack weather-wise, you more than make up with the people.
Béla,
The Friodur is beautiful. A Fabulous shaver for sure.
ED,
Lovely scales on that Dovo of yours. Well done
Ooooh yeeaaaaah Mikael...That's one nice looking gear and the lather? Delishhhhh.
What an excellent execution Birnando. SRD BR is one awesome soap indeed. I hope they bring it back again. Fabuous looking TZ and Thather too.
PS: enjoy the beautiful sunny day. Hope you had a great time with your get together yesterday (or was the the day before?)
That's a beautiful HR Jasp. Great choice of soap too. FANTASTIC
Grant,
Personally, I think the enjoyment that kids get from being with you (albeit interrupting you) is worth 1000 shaves. I think you had a pretty good morning with a little side effect of shaving. I wish mine was as successful as yours buddy. Great JR btw.
Otto,
This must be by far one of the most stunning blades in your collection.
Monroe,
That blade would leave anyone speechless. Well done buddy
That's one fabulous looking lather Nic. The shave must have been heavenly
+1 Bill, but this is no different than any other Sunday or any day of the week
Beautiful. This is one of Charlie's more creative works of art. Congratulations
Wowwww Jamie,
That's one heck of a collection I must admit. Would love to see some of them show up on SOTD. The drool factor would be hard to beat
GI,
I love your shave today. Even good old Frank would have been proud. Sorry about the weather, but the plan to watch oldies sounds like a fun thing to do...Enjoy your day my brother
Sorry to hear about the weather Kalerolf. However, the sun seems to be shining all over your shave. Well done
Wowww Sten,
What a fabulous shave and +1 on your plan for an after shave relaxation. Enjoy it buddy

First post in SOTD!
Pre-shave: conditioner and hot water
Strop: Tony Miller 3" latigo/linen heirloom
Brush: AOS pure badger
Soap: AOS sandalwood uberlather with C.O. Bigelow and glycerin
Razor(s): Dovo Best Quality 5/8 with worked spine and Diamondine 5/8 with muted spike, both full hollow.
Scuttle: GTP G5 with boiling water from the kettle.
Astringent: AOS alum block
Balm: Shea Moisture Shave Butter
Soundtrack: Stevie Ray Vaughan's Greatest Hits. Awesome.
Double trouble today, boys! Its shave-test day with these two razors. Decided to shave before the shower today and see how it turned out. Pretty decent results, overall. BBS with both razors on everything but the neck, and DFS on that, so pretty good.
Still can't believe how good the Shave Butter leaves me afterward. Its lotiony, but is formulated to relieve bumps and ingrown hairs, so I don't worry about it clogging my pores. Great scent, slightly citrus-y. No cologne today, going to the gym this afternoon and showering after that.
Have a great week, guys!

Thank you maestro
Derek,
Welcome to the fold brother. I have rolled out the red carpet...Looking forward to seeing more of you around these necks of the woods. What a great shave. Keep rocking and in no time, you will achieve the BBS on the neck as well. Wonderful gear too.

Sunday shave
Good day, Gents! A fine presentation from each and every one today as well as lively comments, which are nice to read! Thanks!
For my humble post, I submit my first shave with this old "unusual Rodgers" which was a joy to clean, hone, and finally use. I have never possessed an old Sheffield which had not been molested in some form until this one, which I believe to have been unused!
My daughter scooted off to camp this AM, and there was plenty hot water! I dialed in my favorite Sunday radio show, Yuri Yuri, the big bad boss man of the blues, and ubered up some nice warm lather, 3 hot towels and 3 passes! I could not resist the 3rd! Took me 25 minutes to absorb all the luxury and the feel of Ivory along with a fresh, sharp, smiling blade!
What a sweet shave!
Have a great day and a safe, prosperous week to come, guys! Tom"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
