Thanked: 1072Prep: Hot Shower/Hot Towel
Strop: Illinois 835
Brush: FS Finest Badger
Cream: CarrieM's Black Raspberry Vanilla
Razor: ERN 1166 Crown & Sword 6/8
Astringent: Thayer's Unscented Witch Hazel
Balm: C.O. Bigelow Mentha
This was my first shave with CarrieM's cream and I really enjoyed the fresh sweet smell of the lather. Not a typical shaving cream scent, but a really nice one.
I mentioned to Rene a couple of weeks ago that this razor was one of my more difficult to get a really nice edge on. Fortunately, I recently got it where it needs to be and tonights shave was superb.
I didnt go for the full BBS because I want to do a test shave tomorrow night and I want some whiskers there to test with. I only did 2 passes, but it wasnt too far off BBS.
A great shave.
Thanks for all the awesome posts and pics guys

Pre-Shave: Shower with C.O. Bigelow Bay Rum hair/body wash Brush: Tumtatty custom Cherry brush with a Whippeddog 24/65 silvertip badger knot Razor: Joseph Rodgers & Sons blade set in lacewood scales Strop: SRD Red Latigo Creme: MWF Astringent Alum Block After Shave Splash: My own "Sgt Hakeswill's" Bay Rum Aftershave Cologne: Dirty English Results: I ran the blade over my 12k Chinese water stone last night since the last time I used it I had a bit of irritation. This shave was much better. The MWF is a fantastic soap. I have a meeting today that'll take place over Mexican food and beers that I've been looking forward to all week. I hope it goes as well as this shave!!

You bet...unless you want a new one.
Then my brain would get numb!!! I have enough trouble thinking!!
I am feeling much better this morning. There was little pain but I get really stressed at the dentist. The razor is amazing as well as the car. Thank you.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

Week of July 10 SOTD - Friday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 30mm Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger Maxterpiece: 7/8" Friodur INOX #17, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point (w/ G10 Orange Hunter scales) Strop: 40/60 laps (Neil Miller linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather) Überlather: L'Occiatne "Cade" Shave Creme + L'Occiatne "Cade" Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floid Italian Blue After Shave Balm: L'Occiatne "Cade" ASB Cologne: Halston "Catalyst" EdC (Top notes: orange, artemisia, caraway, tuberose, lavender, vodka, mandarin orange, narcissus, galbanum, basil, jasmine, mint, sage, rose oil and bergamot. Middle notes: green grass, nutmeg, carnation, bay leaf, chamomile, cinnamon, violet, lily-of-the-valley, black currant and rose. Base Notes: labdanum, leather, sandalwood, tonka bean, amber, patchouli, musk, benzoin, coconut, oakmoss, vetiver, incense and cedar) Results: An early AM shave due to an early AM meeting. After reading about Jeff's (aka, mvcrash) post with the Cade last night, I decided to give this überCade a try today. I decided to couple this fabulously delicious lather with another of my Friodur Maxterpieces (You saw the #19 in G10 Green lime scales, featured yesterday), i.e., the #17 in Hunter Orange G10. Similar to her Green cousin, this #17 performed as perfectly as any Henckels/Friodur I have come across . With her buttery smooth edge, I used absolutely no pressure in either of the 3 directions and was rewarded to an absolutely blissful, irritation free and BBS shave . Finished it with applying a mixture of Trumper's moisturizer and Floid to my face and a mini spray of Catalyst to my under shirt.
Have an EXHILARATING Friday boys.

Oooooh yeaaaaah. A Helje + Da Fat kinda shave. That's heavenly
Grant,
CarrieM's BRV is amazing scent wise. I don't know whether to use it or eat it, LOL. Great stuff too. Also, congratulations on getting a fantastic edge on that C&S. Those seem to be hard to achieve edges (I know Rene has been frustrated lately). Well done mate
Hey Tim,
That's a nice looking brush. Nicely done buddy. Not a bad looking blade either. I cross my fingers for you with your meeting today. It's there's beer involved, it's bound to go well, LOL.
