Thanks again Robert. You know, I may have scored with this Vitos pre-post-shave cream. I think it can give Proraso a run for its money.

He-he, yeah them's nice razors. But since I looked up the picture for somebody else yesterday, here it is again - they are not really covered tangs, these are basically tangs carved out of ivory. The blade ends with a little stub that gets inserted into a hole carved in the the tang. Pretty cool:

    Monroe,

    Cheers,

    Hi Robert,

Yeah, I cleaned it!!! Put it in a box, addressed it to Las Vegas and a bunch of months later unpackaged another box I'm a maxter restorer!!!
Actually that's not completely true, one of them I brought to JoeD's place and Lynn and Joe were holding it for a while in proximity to running buffer, while I was holding a succession of tasty beverages. Then it looked just like this one too.
    See, I am good

The one pictured that the tang shattered while max was cleaning it actually went to a guy in the UK who wanted to experiment with it and fashion a replacement out of acrylic, but I don't really know what happened with that project and how it worked. Hope he was able to make something good, the blade deserves it.

    Cheers

Thank you for kind comment about the razor. The peens are two color (silver-ish and gold). The top layer of gold came off from too much rubbing/drying, LOOOL. As for teh Catalyst: I like it but not my favorite (like to use it once in a blue moon). I think it's got too much stuff for its own good and it becomes a "mish mesh" of scents. But I was in one of those "mish meshy" moods today anyways, LOOOOL.
Ah Robert, it looked to me as if it was some black or gray coating on the bottom washer, then brass and finally a Nickel silver peen. I'll keep that in mind, perhaps I'll be the first to use that setup then
As a result of your choice of fougere, I went and did my research, came back with a surprisingly long list of fougeres that I don't know. I'll bring it with me when I go shopping, perhaps something nice will come out of it anyways

I'm guessing by the name badge she's wearing that this was a professional shave! How'd she do?
I've never been shorn by another. Do the pros do 3 passes too?

Yes. She was quite good. Two passes. One WTG. One ATG. Lots of hot towels and lather. Then a clay mask, some more hot towels, then a cool towel, some balm and I was good to go. Very relaxing.

I hope so too. It is a rather nice blade and it would be nice to see her in all her beautiful glory

Haaa. Shows you how much I know about restoration and peening, eh? Max would probably know more of the details on the peening

Sounds great Sten...We can call it FAD (Fougere Acquisition Disorder), LOOOOOL. In all seriousness, if you like Fougere, MdC makes some great bath soaps with Fougere. I love that scent. It's one of the best I have smelled .
