Week of July 10 SOTD - Saturday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 24mm Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger Razor: 7/8" H. Böker "Finest Silver Steel", Extra Hollow Ground, Round Point Honing (refresh) Regimen: Refreshed on CrOx Premium IV leather (10 very light laps) Strop: 0/65 laps (Neil Miller linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather) Überlather: Martin de Candre Shave Soap Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floid Italian Blue After Shave oil: Martin de Candre Oil of Copra Cologne: Martin de Candre "Vetyver" EdT Results: I recently got some ~99%+ pure CrOx powder (average particle size = 0.3µ) from Kremer Pigments (see here) and rubbed a little onto my premium IV leather strop. As I rubbed the powder with my fingers (with gloves, of course), the fine particles penetrated the "sanded" leather uniformly and evenly. I took the Böker for a quick 10 light laps around this green lawn followed by 65 laps on the Clásico horse hide. The result was unbelievably fantastic . The edge on this beauty was so crisp and smooth, it would cut butter just by looking at it. HHT was effortless and so was the shave . The MdC was a delight to use and the lather it produced was filled with wholesome goodness.
Have a FABULOUS Saturday guys.

Buddel rescaled this razor. The blade is a little bit warped. He found the way to rescale the razor and now the blade doesn't touch the scales any longer.

Tom,
Was the blade warped or the scales? If blade, then honing may be a pain to do. She's a beauty nevertheless
Thank you Mikael,
The Boker takes on a very nice edge...and fast too. Friodurs can be a PITA to hone (especially if they're stainless steel). They take a bit more work, but well worth the time spent

Had to take the Gotta for a second spin, had such a great shave yesterday fresh off the Chinese hone, and it was indeed just as great today! Used the scuttle with cold water, nice and cold lather is sooo refreshing on a warm day.

@Robert
The blade is warped, not the scales.
Yes it isn't so easy to hone this blade, but I think I've enough experience to get a good result.

Thanked: 1185And Now for Something Totally Different
Prep: Morning PT (2 miles at fat old man pace), hot water wash, baby oil gel, pack remaining gear and deploy to poolside
Additional Gear: Small portable 5X mirror
Razor: Texas Shumate
Brush: VDH Boar
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum Sage and Cedar
AS: Cold Shower poolside, dip in the pool (water temp around 90 degrees), cold shower poolside, Clubman Bay Rum, Large pinch of Grizzly Snuff
Finish: Murray and Lanman's Florida Water
The weekend poolside shave is born! Several things made this feel unusual. First shave with the portable mirror and first time I can ever recall shaving sitting down but it felt really luxurious like I was on some exotic vacation. The Texas Shumate performed with its usual efficeincy and 3 passes left me CBS. I'll have to try this again tomorrow. I think an outside hero shot is in order though. This morning, Claude Monet stopped by so I had him paint my SOTD picture
The older I get, the better I was
