No Shave today, but played around with the camera and what I would like to shave with...unfortunately I'm still almost BBS from yesterday or depending upon how you look at it!

This razor is for a friend in Romania. It's going to be sent off to Max soon to have him perfect the blade.

Hammer, any who've enjoyed Genco shaves know exactly what you mean. Yesterday was a 6/8 'Honor' squarepoint. 'Like almost all, its plain jane, daily driver appearance hides that the shaves stand tall amidst any blade on the planet. I wish they made more 6/8 size and 1/4 grinds, but for hollows, they're one of the best values I've found. I'm losing count, but there's at least 7 that I keep and use.

They pamper pretty good. Not cheap, but fun.

No picture today folks, Got up really late for a Saturday (10:00) and had time for a shower and a shave before SWMBO got home from getting her eyes examined this morning. No breakfast, so far no lunch, only coffee!!

At least the shave was a great one!! I just got a Genco 'Master Barber' pro honed by LarryA and gave it her first shave.

As I said to Larry: It looks like hell, but shaves like the devil! 2 passes and I am DFS Happy!!

    Enjoy the day!!

-This is one of those shaves that keeps me enthused about shaving. Those who
care enough about shaving to come to the boards understand.
-I couldn't decide which pic to post, so I posted both-a bit indulgent but it was
    an indulgent shave so....

    Default Saturday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: Simpson Duke 2
    Razor: Henckels Friodur 721/2 6/8
Honing Regimen: Last time I was going to use this I noticed that it made some light scratches on my strop, I have no clue how it happened, but there was a clearly visible dent in the edge, had to take it back to my Naniwa 3K to get it out, prosessed with 8K-12K finished on CrOx.
Strop: 30/60 Neil Miller Linen/Enlish Bridle
    Soap/Cream: Cella
After shave Balm: Mennen Skin Bracer
Results: Another great shave, the Friodur came to me with a fantastic edge, so I was seriously pissed off when I noticed the dent in the edge, but taking my time on the hones really paid of, I almost got it back to where it was. I held back a long time before I bought Cella, but I'm glad I finally did, both scent and lather is marvelous, and it quickly became one of my favorites, together with the Friodur I got a nice and smooth shave. Been trying to get some Mennen AS for a long time, the same gentleman who sent me the IM sent this one too for me to try. Splashing the Mennen in my face after the shave set me back a couple decades, I remember my late grandfather always using Mennen AS when I was a kid and using the same stuff as him gives me a nice feeling. I addition to the sentimentality it also worked great, and had a nice mentholated feel the first couple minutes, definitly a keeper

My first time posting in SOTD.

Today was a somber occasion. We recently lost my aunt to a very aggressive cancer. The memorial service was today, so I wanted to look my best.

I've recently tried cold-water shaving, so I did no prep. I lathered up some C.O. Bigelow cream with my SRD silvertip #5 brush using cold water. My latest acquisition, a Wade & Butcher 6/8 wedge literally wiped the whiskers from my face. I rinsed with warm water, followed by an alum block. A lukewarm shower, washing my face with my wife's Oil of Olay soap left my face BBS with absolutely no irritation. Overall, a great shave that left me feeling like a million bucks.
