In nutshell Mike, no it doesn't. You have had heart attacks in the past. Artery blockages don't go away unless we fix them. Get a heart cath. You might need a CABG but in the long run you'll be better for it.

Welcome to blighty Mikael! Should we assume that the Silver Salamander doesn't have a passport and thus remained in Sweden?
I've often wondered why hard water is called hard, maybe its due to the difficulty in making a decent lather! Anyway you'll find what works and what doesn't no doubt, I find Trumpers creams good with our hard water in the South West, so it could be an ideal excuse!!!

    Enjoy your stay.
    Regards
    Nic

Post Week of July 24 SOTD - Friday

    BACK TO THE ROOTS SHAVE

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Razor: 13/16" Respecto #77, Extra Hollow Ground, Round Point
Strop: 40/60 (Neil Miller Linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather)
Überlather: GFT Shave Creme + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave: Trumper's Limes Skin Food
Results: Today was a "Back to Basics" (B2B as I would like to call it) shave with my first straight shave gear. The Respecto was my practice blade, but she has become a permanent and prominent member of my collection. She can hold her own with the best of them . The GFT was a delight to break out as well. I hadn't put her into rotation as of late and I was very happy with the performance, especially with the Vulfix (my first brush). A very refreshing lather was borne out of this courtship. Moist and creamy, just as one would expect from any of Trumper's lines. The Respecto might as well be renamed "The Terminator" (She is back baby). She made no issues of the 1 day growth and eliminated it effortlessly and with ease. BBS just like the day I was born (I think).

    Have a INCREDIBLE Friday gentlemen.

As you know by now, that DT13 is a top shaver. AdP is also a top performer (great scent too). Great choices for today.

    Mikael,
You are in London on vacation? Sorry about the water quality brother, but nice razor and soap choice.

AWESOME JR buddy. Also, is the De Vergulde glycerin or tallow based? What's the scent like?

    • Pre: Proraso Pre cream
    • Brush: Semogue SOC Boar
    • Soap: MWF
    • Strop: Scrupleworks.
    • Razor: Friodur 8/8
    • Honing: Something new today, after a few laps on the Shapton 16k I went to balsa loaded with Ken Schwartz 0.5/0.25/0.125 micron CBN, then 50 light laps on leather.

I was very exited to try a razor finished with superduper fine CBN. But I got some resistance from MWF, I didn't get the glide from it that I got yesterday, but still the shave was fine. The razor was of course really sharp, but surprisingly smooth. I chose CBN because it's supposed to be a lot smoother than diamond sprays, and so far I find that is true. :-)

    Default Friday!!

Pre-Shave: a cool shower, after a good long ride on my bike.
Brush: Shavemac D01, 2-band silver tip
Razor: Thiers Issard Spartacus. Spanish point with worked spine.
    Honing Regimen: Stubear
Strop: Neil Miller Shell Cordovan, custom strop
    Soap/Cream: Martin de Candre
    Scuttle:Schwarzweisskeramik, Large White
    Astringent: Alum
After shave Balm: MdC Coprah Oil
    EdT: Eau de Candre, Lavande
Results: A super shave. Stubear kindly offered to let me take this back home to Norway, to try it out in my own den A super shaver, I am so getting me one of these. A fine edge was put on it by him as well. Stu knows his way around the hones!! Paired with the great Martin de Candre products, it's hard to ask for any more in a shave
