Sorry the hear, it's a terrible disease, and even worse when it affects children.

    Today's Shave:

    Warm Shower
    Warm Oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    Nancy Boy Signature with Glycerine
Hand made Badger given to me by Biamonte at our meet up
Beau Brummel straight off Robert Williams' Buffers
    SRD P1 100 Laps
    AOS Aluminum
    Lilac Vegetal
    Vaseline for men.

Took a ride to Robert William's house today to learn a bit more about razors. Watched him finish up three razors and make scales for them from horn. That stuff really smells bad when being worked on. He was also kind enough to remove the stain I put on the Brummel when I first got it. Took him all of 30 seconds. He then really worked the edge for me. After, we went for lunch and while sitting at the table, I learned my uncle passed so I had to leave rather quickly.
The razor was really nice tonight and gave a wonderful shave. The nancy Boy is always a pleasure to shave with. The Custom Brush is fantastic. It is ceramic so it has weight. The Badger is thick and soft and held a large amount of cream. If you can get one from him, I highly recommend it, great stuff.
I am amazed at the amount of work that goes into a custom razor. As soon as I learn a bit more, he is going to help me make my own razor. That should be interesting.

    Enjoy the evening.

Well after a nice day with friends at their pool party SWMBO and I returned home for a nice relaxing evening/shower/shave. Yesterday I decided I would just try the 1869 out in the DB 1.5scuttle. Well call me spanky!!!! It lathered up fantastic. Yes it requires a larger bowl to pick up air but damn if it didn't make whipped cream. I didn't shave with it but decided I would try it again next shave. Today I made a great earthy Uber with it and plugged right along with the GFT and EJ that I liked so much last shave. Excellent smell that is still lasting. It went well with a 3 pass with the Fili but I decided to take it out of rotation until I have time to run it on the hones again. Just a tad more pull then I like. Still a DFS but I must be spoiled... Grant so sorry... to hear about your life issue's. Children are difficult to lose.

Had another run in with the Beau Brummel Shaving soap from Mama Bear. Robert the stuff smells strong (which I need since my nose is not up to its normal sensitivity). It reminds me of tobacco and musk with a sweet scent that I can't quite put my finger on. Anyway, It hangs around for awhile and I enjoy that very much.

Had some Floid Sandalor pre shave and Floid Aftershave balm following a splash of Thayers. Finished off with Pinaud Clubman and my Bay Rum standby. Its an excellent way to finish the day and get ready for an early start tomorrow!

Gotta keep going, Baldy, we gotta keep going. My 3 1/2 year old grandson was diagnosed with bone cancer only 14 weeks ago. He had an op two weeks ago to remove his humerus and replace it with his fibula. On Tuesday I take him in for a review and to continue another 6 months of chemo (he's already had 12 weeks worth). Bailey teaches me to 'live in the moment'; he's a bugger at times, but generally he's as happy as anything; he calls his new leg brace his 'Iron Man Leg'. Of course he doesn't really know what's going on, but I still look up to him, he's so brave; that is, when I'm not staring into corners or weeping at the smallest thing. Have to keep going though, have to keep going....And it's not ranting, I'd like to think we could use this forum to support each other and talk to each other in regard to many facets. Us 'blokes' don't really talk a lot, do we?
