    Amund,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY buddy. What a great way to start the celebration with this wonderful shave...But I see that you have "stolen" Rune's Filarmonica and trying to cover it up with the MdC soap, LOOOOOL. Congrats on a great buy

    Angel,

That Otto Deutsch is gorgeous. Glad she's met your expectations. In regards to AdP, have you given the RazoRock XXX a try? I would say it's exactly the same scent as the AdP, equally great performance at a fraction of the cost. Highly recommended

Congratulations on dial in that edge and getting your 2nd best shave ever. It's a great feeling indeed. Well done.

Also, you're a man after my own heart my friend ;-). That QED soap is a wonderful choice.

Love (I mean absolutely love) the desert ironwood on that brush. Stunningly gorgeous. Great choice of gear today (and every day) my friend

After several minutes, my face looked like I was sporting a full Santa Claus beard and the den was filled with the aroma of sweet almonds. The dilemma was what blade to pair with this heavenly lather, so I did what any dedicated wet shaver would do, I reached for a blade I hadn't used in a while. The Akatombow is a wonderful example of western style Japanese razors. The gorgeous frame back is clothed in some elk bone scales put together by Glen, and it makes for such an incredible balance both in terms of looks and feel of the razor. This beauty glided through the almond goodness with nary a care. In its wake, I found nothing but clean, smooth, moist skin. By the time I emerged from the shave den, I was a new man! Of course, the ritual cannot be considered complete until you've got a little smell good working and with the this combination, I had to reach for a classic, so the Knize Ten was applied judiciously and now I smell at least as good as I look!
    Bill,
Oh my...from the sounds of it, you didn't want to get out of the den. I don't blame you with that kind of shave. Well done buddy.

Well I dont have anything in mind Robert, but I keep my eyes out for a few razors with a nice restore in mind, but there's a few restorers out there and we all must be bidding on the same razor. I suppose my luck will change in my favour shortly, thanks for asking Robert.

I keep my fingers crossed Jamie. Keep hunting my friend, Life's equation of equilibrium is always balanced. Bad luck is always accompanied by good luck. I will keep an eye out for you too buddy and if I come across anything restore worthy, I will shoot you a PM. Result: Very comfortable shave. My first positive experience with a frameback from hone to finish! These things are really neat, glad I can now get a good edge on it. I used my nagura method, watching carefully under the microscope as I went and achieved one of the best edges so far. I'm learning that with certain harder steels, my stone delivers a finer edge with the slightest of slurries as opposed to just water, and smaller shorter strokes as I finish. The blade on this frameback is shockingly thin and sings quite loudly but is stiffer than a hollow and requires an adjustment of technique. I don't normally shave in the morning but today I was rewarded with as close and comfortable a shave as I could hope for. Also, since it arrived over 2 months ago I have used MdC exclusively. I think I found what works best for me. Sorry, no photo today.
    Justin,
First and foremost: it is always a pleasure seeing your posts when schedule permits. Hope all is going well in your neck of the woods

Second: That's a beautiful SB...They are amazing shavers indeed. Hard as hell steel, but very easy to hone up...

Third: Congrats on dialing in the best edge and figuring out what works best with MdC

Can't say enough about how awesome this razor is! I gave it a few slides over the coticule and then some chromium oxide last night.
Robert ever since you posted about focusing on "zero pressure" I have been doing the same. I had definitely been pushing too hard on my face. This blade slide effortlessly down my beard with its side-kick Mdc!
