Man! I was just at Jamestown 2 weeks ago!!! I'd love to see the ships coming up the James River. Did they stop the Ferry for a bit?

I am doing some (Martini Henry) reloading for a Victorian Rifleman Provincial Shooting Competition coming up next month and decided to theme my shave in honor of the effort.

I don`t like Monday`s, but today was an exception. My location on this planet is Norway, had the day off, wanted a great Straight razor shave (like every day), put on some relaxing music, Vangelis, 1492, Conquest of paradise and went to work.

I had a little celebration for myself today, because this was my first shave ever with a Custom Straight. Brian Brown made me this 8/8 Spanish point in Damascus steel with Ivory scales. Stropped it 40/60 linen/leather on a Scrupleworks 3", made myself a huge amount of thick, creamy, warm Fitjarsoap Telemark soap smelling exactly like a Lagavulin 16 Islay Single Malt, I really felt like a man, hehe.

I used my fairly new H. L. Thater 26mm Rein Dachs brush, and Gentlemen, this brush is in another leage talking softness of tips. You must try it to belive it, everybody owning one will know what I mean. Well, the Thater filled up my large Schwartzweisskeramic XL scuttle with ease, and my face waited hungry for the first silky strokes with the Telemark soap.

The shave was outstanding, I know I write that every time, but this one was better than all shaves to date in my life. The BB was heavy, large, beautiful and incredibly sharp. It felt as sharp as a Feather blade actually. After three passes, the last ATG my skin was as silky smooth as it can get, suddenly my face felt like a womans;-)

The last part of the enjoyment was stropping my new favorite razor again after use, put on a luxury amount of Neroli aftershave cream from Fitjar and felt ready for anything the new day might bring.

    Have a great shave everybody!

    PREP: Hot Shower
    RAZOR: Wade and Butcher
    BRUSH: Omega Boar
SOAP: Napa Soap Co. Lavender and Cedar
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers Unscented
    ASB: Skinfood
    EDT: YSL M7
RESULTS: FEELS GOOD TO BE SILKY SMOOTH AGAIN
I havent shaved since early last week and was looking grizzly. I knew the only razor to take care of this was the W&B. Cleaned down the whiskas with ease. The Napa Soap is a very hard soap, and I couldnt lather it with my regular Badger Brush. However once I used my boar on this soap it exploded with great lather. Nice cushion and glide, and the smell is divine. Topped it off with some YSL M7 and I am ready for a much needed day off, maybe a trip to Disneyland with the lady

My God, this was a sharp little wedgy blade! The Nick twins came by and visit (nothing serious though), Neil honed this blade and he must have finished on the Shapton GS 16k, one sharp and stiff blade this ... But I like it
Sorry to hear about the Nick brothers' visit Mikael, but it was worth it as this blade is gorgeous. Very nice. Also, a great match up between brush and coffee. That brush has "You" written all over it.

I had the W&B ready to go last night but never ended up having a shave, and tonight it was up against a substantial 4 days of growth. The recently touched-up razor wiped it away with no problem at all.
    Grant,
4 days of growth should be no issues with that W&B. She's made for that. Well done mate.

    Thanks for the confirmation Joe

PS: Bill does have deep pockets...but most of his stuff should be looked at as investments that gain in value
