October 21 Afternoon SOTD
Prep: A much needed hair cut then hot shower and lingering lather
Brush: Rooney Silvertip
Cream: RazoRock XXX
Razor: Dovo Blackstar
Post: RazoRock Alum and Thayers Lemon Witch Hazel
It has been a while since I have been able to post, but today’s relaxing attempt to get myself looking respectable again appears to have been a success!
The BlackStar had to go for several laps on the CrOx pressed felt strop before it was “ready” to shave with... time for a honing and since SRD was nice enough to sell it to me and include a honing it will go back (I also need a great edge to compare my honed edges too). As such the shave was good; two passes and some touching up.
Now to convince the lady that she needs to be seen in public with me!
Enjoy the weekend!

Thanked: 485OK, I know this is REALLY indulgant, and I beg your forgiveness from the outset. I got a little carried away:
Saturday
Mrs Truefitt and hill was complaining. She was always complaining, or, as she liked to put it, ‘mentoring’, ‘guiding’, ‘teaching’. Mühle had arrived. At something approaching the speed of sound as far as she could ascertain. She complained (‘mentored’, ‘guided’, ‘taught’,) that the workplace was beginning to look like a European automobile showroom. She pronounced the word ‘European’ as if it represented the worst of things.
However, she couldn’t help liking Mühle. He was so shiny and.... well.... cosmopolitan.
Herr Speick made a bee-line straight for Mühle; vigorously shook hands, and declared that they were ‘The Team’ for the day. Musgo seethed, hissing over and over again under his breath that he was ‘real’. “But I am REAL” he said. “Can Speick say that?” “Can he?” Mühle responded by quoting Martin Buber, Andy Warhol and Ghandi all in the same sentence, which simply annoyed Musgo, who responded by going to pick some grapes...
Mrs Truefitt and Hill said as far as she was concerned, if anyone would like to ask her, she for one should be included; as she was almost always included. Speick and Mühle joined in replying that that was simply because she was the only AS, and anyway, she was RATHER too formal for a Saturday. Master Proraso piped up (very much awed by these two brash German gentlemen with fast cars and panache) and said that he knew a fellow (his Uncle) who had worked in the post shave treatment area for AGES, and he was SURE he could help...
Pablo Proraso Post Shave was summoned, and after waiting for him to return from the markets, was put to good use.
Pablo relished the task; rolling up his sleeves and really getting in to it, sweat (and, it appeared, olive oil) dripping off of him as he worked.
In the end, Mühle (utilising Astra his servant girl to good use) completed some excellent work, doing three full passes. Master Proraso Pre Shave (whose little face constantly beamed up at Pablo Proraso with adoring pride) did a fine job of preparing the workplace. Speick was less frothy than normal, citing a lack of ‘Vater’ as the reason.
Mrs Truefitt and Hill, not being included, retired to the rose garden to read Keats.
Pablo worked himself so hard he had to be fanned vigorously with Il Globo until he recovered, upon which he demanded Espresso, Grappa and Ouzo. Master Proraso, all in a fluster, poured it all in one thick-walled glass together (including a dash of ‘The Good’ olive oil) and offered it to his adored uncle. Pablo drank it down between puffs of his "Sigaro Toscano"…
“On the morgan” said Speick. “I shall introduce my good friend Klas…he is a good friend…he shall do a good, how do you say… Job?”
“We’ll see about THAT" whispered Mrs Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar to herself. “We’ll just SEE about THAT!”…
Cast : Razor: Mühle Pre Shave: Master Proraso Cream: Herr Speick ASB: Uncle Pablo Proraso After Shave: Absent (reading Keats) Cuff links of the Day:None, it’s SATURDAY! What? Do you think I’m a PONCE???

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
