Thanked: 485Thanks Grant, yeah, you know, ups and downs and that horrible feeling of impending doom. I tell you what though, I've learnt a few lessons over the last few months, (1) that crying is good for you (unless you over do it) and (b) that you can get used to this sort of stuff.
Every time I walk in that treatment room, with all those little kids lined up in the big chairs with their little bald heads, hooked up to an astonishing array of tubes, and see a new family, I want to say to them, "It's OK, you'll get used to it, it's horrible to think that, but you WILL get used to it..."
I tend to open my big mouth a bit too much, and sometimes when I say something here that in AUSTRALIA is just normal 'jibing', but might not be taken in the good natured way it's meant by others, I think to myself, "please don't banish me, you don't know how much I need straightrazorplace right now..." It sounds stupid, but I mean it :-)
Anyway, enough doom and gloom, time to post a SOTD photo!!!Last edited by carlmaloschneider; 10-29-2011 at 06:28 AM.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 485Saturday
OK everyone, hold on to your seats, I have some news. Carl went OUT today SOCIALISING!!! YES! SOCIALISING! With SWMBO, small son and big son to a 60th. Big son was the talk of the party with his dreads, beads, nose ring, tatts, ‘tunnel’ in the ear and other assorted embellishments. He’s a very cool looking fellow. Some parents would shudder, but I quite like the look. A lot of family there that I haven’t seen for 20 years. A few glasses of champagne (and now I’m getting stuck into the Oettinger; a very nice and reasonably priced German beer). Came away feeling very sprightly, I must say. So much grey hair and everyone seemed to have gained 100 kilos!
The shave before was with the Klas Törnblom, that I’ll probably pass over the Shapton 16k a few times this afternoon. BTW, stupid newbie question, I know, but can anyone tell me if this blade is ‘normal’ carbon steel or stainless? Seems a bit of a bugger to hone, even considering my ineptitude. I do realise Swedish steel is quite hard.
Made an Über of C&E Nomad, Musgo Real and glycerin. Musgo Real is a very nice cream, isn’t it? Certainly a favourite.
By the way, the background picture is a picture of how I would like to live. Anyone ever feel you were born in the wrong century?
