Week of December 4 SOTD - Wednesday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger Maxterpiece: 13/16" Maher & Grosh "Famous Toledo Blade" extra hard, 1/4 Hollow Ground, Barber's Notch (w/ Burgundy Linen Micarta scales) Edge Refresh: 7 (light) laps on CrOx-treated Premium IV leather Strop: 5/65 laps (Ambrose Horsehide Clásico strop) Soapreme: Jack Black Shave Creme + La Toja "Manantiales" Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: La Toja "Manantiales" AS Cologne: La Toja "Manantiales" EdT Results: The M&G came out shining today . A few laps on the CrOx leather and she was popping hairs like a Ninja assassin, out for blood. The Shavemac whipped up mounds of delicious goodness out of the LT soap. All in all, a terrific shave.
Have a SUPER Wednesday guys.

the end of my first week with a straight razor:
Boker 5/8 King Cutter (expertly honed by gssixgun)
badger brush
Trumper's Coconut SC
Thayer's
Booster's June Clover AS
Nivea ASB
Trumper's Sandalwood Cologne
The Boker feels quite a bit different than the Dovo Best I have been uisng for the past six days. They are almost identical in size, but the Boker is quite a bit lighter. The grind angle is an abvious difference, and the weight / balance feels different.
I got a small nick under my jaw, trying to get the angel right, but it stopped quickly. I didnt get as close as I have been with the Dovo, but I wanted to try this new toy.
I think the Boker will go into the box for a few months as I stick to the Dovo and work on my technique, and then start mixing things up with new razors.

Hi Bman40.
I'm not an expert, but I started in the same way. For a few weeks I was using the same SR until finally I got experience and technique and I started to use different models, blades and grounds.
The cuts and nicks are part of the trade. (I think if you bleed is that you're alive.)
Congrats for your first week.

Wednesday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: Simpson Chubby 1 Razor: Hart Steel 6/8 Round Point Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/English Bridle Soap: Valobra Stick After shave: Knize Ten Results: A perfect late night shave If someone wondered, the Valobra stick is a great soap that easily whips up a wonderfully slick lather, and the Hart is a truly magnificent razor. It takes a great edge, giving a perfectly, smooth BBS shave and to top it Santa brought me an early X-mas gift today, a big bottle of Knize Ten If I was forced to stick to one setup for the rest of my life I easily could have lived with this one
