Size: 33.8 KBRecently acquired this Rollsrazor and wanted to try it out. Honed the blade through 1K,5K,8K then finnished on Thung and used the leather autostrop. Did not try the stone inside wasn't sure if it would work. The shave was very smooth after figuring out the angle needed. All in all I will use this razor again BBS and kinda cool to use.

    Monday Dec 12
Brush: hand turned pecan handle with tgn Silvertip knot
    Soap/Creme: Arko
Razor:Gillette Old with a final cleanup pass from a Merkur slant
Blade: Polsilver (3)& Rapira SS(in the slant)
    Pre: shower+ glycerin soap
Post: alum followed by Masters Lilac Vegetal
    Hair Groom: Gables Brillintine pomade
Result: Polsilvers are great blades, but my beard chews them up (like almost every other blade) in about 2 shaves. Shave #3 with it was rough, irritating, and tugged a lot (almost like I was using a Dorco!). I got pretty smooth, but it was a chore. I polished up a bit with my slant, partly to be sure it was the blade being dull and not the lather being bad (it was indeed the blade, the lather was great.) Since it was extra rough, I took out my alum block, which helped a great deal. I don't use it often, but I am always glad to have it when I need it.

Well I polished this one up and honed it on my coticule at lunch time. A couple of water spots were left but they don't bother me.
Despite the fact that its tiny and would most likely have been used as a trimming and shaping tool rather than a shaving tool I found it very easy to handle and didn't need me to wipe the lather off much more than a 4/8. In fact some of the awkward bits around my nose and under mu chin were easier to get at. Sharpness was spot on and smooth to boot.
    Regards
    Nic
