Well, if I could take photos like that I'd enjoy taking them as well, that's excellent!

A good day today. Mid January Bailey (my grandson) completed his chemotherapy and yesterday he had the last of his scans and tests. Today we were told that he is now officially ‘cancer free’ and in remission! An operation to re-surface the bones in his arm (he’s now got his fibula in his upper arm instead of his humerus) and hopefully it’s all over. Thank God. I don't know what I would have done if the news was bad, though I've beome a little pragmatic over the last 10 months. I think that's the right word...
That's good news indeed, I hope it's over and that he stays well in the future.

I haven't commented much, if anything, but I have read every single post and followed both your and Grant's fight the time I have been here, I guess that I have two small kids myself makes me a little sensitive to the subject, I really don't know how I would manage if one of them got seriously sick, and I admire the open spirit and honesty you and Grant are showing when it comes to this.

This morning’s shave was with one of my JaNorton razors; the Klas Törnblom. An excellent shave after not shaving for several days. I more I use this razor the more I like it; I’m glad I chose this as one of the JaNorton razors, to hone and use through January. A little bored with my current soaps and creams; the C O Bigalow should be here soon and then maybe three weeks after that the O Melhor. I used the Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad this morning. Not bad, for a soap. I’ve only used three soaps, and I find they have less ‘oomph’ that the creams I’ve tried. One day, I’ll start researching and asking about a soap with ‘oomph’, one that has ‘bounce’. I hear Mitchell’s Wool Fat is good? May have to contact Obie, he’s the soap expert I gather...
For a soap with "oomph" as you call it, I would suggest that you try Cella or the European Palmolive stick, both great soaps that easily produces a great slick and cushiony lather.
MWF is a very good soap, one of my favorites, but some find it a bit tricky to lather, personally I have found it to work best when face lathering with a brush with quite a bit backbone.

Do get some MWF, it's a must have soap IMO. I'm sure Obie will agree
Thanks guys, much appreciated. I’ve actually started a list, Blix, three in fact; ‘Soaps to Buy’, ‘Creams to Buy’ and ‘Brushes to Buy’. MWF is number three on the soaps list. I want to try some shave sticks; Arko and Valobra first; I’ve never used a shave stick, though my Dad always used one...

Thanks for the comments and support. You know, there were times when I was physically ill with worry, times when nothing, not one, solitary single thing gave any enjoyment whatsoever, times when I could have beaten and bashed every single person that annoyed me on the road, times when I actually didn't want to be here anymore. But I got used to it, I got used to holding Bailey down while they stuck needles into him and he screamed in terror, and then walking out the hospital dry reaching with all the anguish and sadness of it all. Crying at work. Spending HOURS staring into a corner. One thing I really want for me, is for me to be more loving, compassionate and caring. I think I've learnt that that is what I need to do and be...be more loving and caring and compasionate...

Without wanting to overdo it all, this forum really actually helped. You guys are all so supportive, about EVERYTHING, buying creams, soaps, honing, problems and issues. You really are a special bunch of people; I have never come across such camaraderie since I left the army.......Thanks....

The camaraderie here sure is amazing, how people stick out a hand and support and help someone they really don't know, sometimes I catch myself thinking that this is how the world should be. If people in general acted more like the gentlemen in here in the "real" world regardless of skin colour, religion etc. I think we would have had a much better world.

Arko is a good performer, but it smells like a urine puck IMO. Can't believe I forgot to metion the Valobra stick, my all time favorite soap, great performer with a nice, clean scent.

This morning’s heat called for a cold water splash and Witch Hazel to close up my pores, which are extremely ‘open’ at the best of times. This afternoon in the gym I was dripping all over the place! My plan is to lose maybe 5 kilos to get down to 74 or 75 kilos by my 50th birthday in April. It’s amazing how quickly you start getting your size and strength back after about 8 months of no exercise at all!

    Razor: Klas Törnblom
    Pre Shave: Proraso
    Cream: Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad
    ASB: Witch Hazel
After Shave: Pinaud Clubman and Burberry ‘The Beat’ Eau de Toilette

    L'Occitane Bavx Soap
    Feather Artist Club - SS
    Feather Blade Light
Le Tuft Chubby 1.5 in Lignum Vitae
    Vito's Coconut & Almond
    Alum + Propolis
    L'Occitane Bavx Balm
    Botanics Moisturiser SPF 15
    Floris Elite Eau De Parfum

    Jamie.

The Feather delivered a super shave, and the Floris Elite smells absolutely divine, the Bavx soap is such a super soap so good in fact i've even used it for whipping up a lather in the past very rich and moisturising as you would expect from all L'Occitane products, even though it's a bathroom soap it's as good as any shaving soap.

As you know, I favorize Calani soaps:
    Rasierseifen - Calani Seifenmanufaktur
Sorry, this website is only in German language.
