    Location: Oslo
    Pre: Shower
    Strop: Kanayama 80000
    Brush: Muhle Sophist
    Soap: Vintage Yardley
Razor: Hard to read, but looks like maullin or mahllin

The old razor proved to be a great shaver, thanks to str8fencer removing a record amount of metal at the recent Oslo meetup.

    Default Father & Son shave

My seven year old son joined todays shave with his own SOTD, he picked out the gear and arranged and shot the pic all by him self

    Shaver: Rune
    Pre-Shave: Hot towels
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 1
    Razor: Gotta 13/16
    Honing Regimen: Chosera 1K - Norton 4/8K
Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/Kanayama Cordovan
    Soap: Palmolive stick
    After shave: Old Spice original
Results: At the Oslo meetup this weekend I got the opportunity to try the Norton 4/8K and inspired by the ongoing JaNorton I decided to stop at 8K, and I would not have any problem to live with this edge. The shave was close, comfortable and smooth

    Shaver: Joachim
    Pre-Shave: Hot towels
    Brush: Simpson Wee Scot
    Razor: Sedef Shavette (Without blade)
    Cream: Palmolive - Australian
    After shave: Str8fencer's English Leather
Results: An extremely smooth 6 pass BBS shave, loved the scent of the AS and ran straight to mom and little sister so they could smell

Need help or tutoring? Check out the  .

Today I came home early and decided to take my old Russian gal for a spin on the Coti as she wasn't up to snuff. Did 10 laps on a light slurry, 10 on a diluted slurry, and finished with 30 on water. Then to the premium fabric for 30, and nice heavy draw latigo for 50, and finally a smooth horse hide for 50. She aint pretty, but she will make you feel special every time....great shave!

    5/8 russian
    24mm super badger from E&J
    Cella
    Alum
    Witch Hazel
    Clubman

    BBS have a great day!

Please pass along the birthday wishes to your daughter. At least it was low key.

    Kamisori Day
    Razor: Yamamasa Kamisori
Brush: Bryce C Ironwood 24mm Silvertip
Hone: Norton 8k, Chinese 12k finish
Strop: SRD Premium IV 50/50, episaacs 'roo 50
    Lather: Tabac Uber
    Scuttle: Robert Becker #9
    AS: Tabac
    ASB: Tabac
Comments: I am starting to get a better feel for the kamisori, though it's still a bit awkward. I figure a few more shaves might help that along. The edge felt alright, though it lacked a bit of smoothness after being touched up on the 8k, then on the CH12k. I'll update The Noob Chronicle in a while. Have a great week, my SOTD Brothers!

Hey all. I missed a few days of SOTD, but thought I'd post today's set up:

    Wade and Butcher Wedge
    Badger Brush
    JM Frasiers Shave Cream
Thayers / Aqua Velva Blue / Nivea ASB
    Vetyver cologne

I had a rough shave with this razor the last time I shaved with it, but I think my technique was off and I was using far too much pressure. I think that happens because of the silence of using the wedge razor. The hollow ground razors I have are very loud compared to the wedge, and I think I might press harder to try and hear that sound. Today I went very carefully, lightly and smoothly, and had no irritation. Also ran it over a pasted strop for 12 laps before I stropped regulary on the latigo.

This might well be my new favorite straight.

    Barry
