Very quick shave today, one pass with minor clean up, super smooth. will be heading to the parcel force office a little later to pay my duty charges to the robbing bastards called parcel force, they are holding my vintage new old stock Fon Golden Star straight razor hostage since it arrived from Japan.

Ever have one of those weeks where the Sunday shave was absolutely outstanding and every shave thereafter seemed to only get progressively better? Well that's the kind of week I'm having this week.

    Pre: Hot shower
Strop: 12x diamond pasted leather; 20x linen; 60x leather
    Lather: Bigelow/Proraso
Brush: Finally identified my "unknown" long-handle badger—it's a Col. Conk
Blade: 4/8 Kropp Sheffield, freshly honed
    Post: Lucky Tiger menthol balm
    A/S: Pinaud lilac vegetal

Strange experience today—the blade reluctantly passed the ritual post-strop HHT. On the face, it did not feel outstanding; a bit "tuggy" and loud. Not a quiet, buttery-smooth glide. HOWEVER, I still got a BBS shave with the usual progression of passes, absolutely no irritation, even ATG.

I'm torn between putting it back on the 8K for more polishing, or just leaving well enough alone. Thoughts?

Two day growth wonderfully removed with the Geneva. A sandalwood day as the temperatures suggest the coming of the spring. And today will be better than yesterday.

For me, I found that when it tugs, I will go back to the diamond strop and follow with the linen/leather at least twice before going back to the hones.
