Thanked: 146A little Sh*t with the sugar!
The good: I ordered soap friday night from Mikes Natural soap. ( you made it sound intriguing Bill) And it got here yesterday evening. Got 1 bar of Rose/Cedarwood and 1 of Orange/Cedarwood/Black Pepper. And a bonus sample of Lemongrass/ Eucaliptus. Since it was going to be a nice spring day, I opted for the Lemongrass/Eucaliptus.
The bad: I took the DD Satinedge 6/8 to the Naniwa to squeeze just a bit more out of an already superb edge and got there! Took the razor into the bathroom and set it on the counter so I could strop it and my brother showed up. Went and shot the breeze with him for 1/2 hour or so and came back to the razor, which was now on the floor thanks to the cat... I don't know who to be madder at, myself for knowing how the cat is, or the cat for just being, well, a cat. The edge has a nice ding in it now, all that work and back to the drawing board. Too pissed to hone so back in the drawer it went. Pulled out the #14 Henckels and on the the good again!
Prep: Hot Shower/ Proraso creme
Brush AOS Pure Badger
Scuttle: G5
Soap: Mikes Natural Lemongrass and Eucaliptus
Razor: #14 Henckels in Ivory scales
Post: Proraso AS/ Nivea Lotion
Result: After getting the ratio right the new soap exploded with a wonderful creamy goodness of lemons and a slight eucaliptus. I think the balance of scents id spot on! The #14 aka the "velvet squeegee" did its usual superb job and another remarkable shave to start the day.
Have a Great Tuesday Gents!

No photo today, but...
Hot shower
1916 Landers Frary & Clark 5/8 round, a not-so-hollow (maybe 1/4?) silent shaver
20x linen; 60x leather, Illinois 127
Williams (yes, Williams!)
Omega long-handle boar
Lucky Tiger, Aqua Velva musk
DFS!
I always thought Williams was just awful stuff, until I read this thread: http://straightrazorpalace.com/soaps...me-lather.html
Soaked the puck in piping hot water during the shower, loaded the bristles and worked the brush in a bit of the water left in the bowl after soaking. Never knew Williams could make this kind of lather.
Wish I'd've taken photos. I lifted the brush out of the bowl, and it looked like I was holding a soft-serve ice cream cone!
Have a great shave and a great day!

Beautiful two pass shave today. Does MDC and Grafton ever let me down????? Never. The edge from the W&B is spot on and the residue from yesterday is gone down the drain. Lovely day.

König 6/8
New Forest 2221
La Toja/Speick/Tom's uberlather
Thayers Lemon WH
Clinique Post Shave Healer
Gris Clair Edp by Serge Lutens
Brought the König out of the drawer after many months of disuse. Combining the three creams yielded a fantastic lather that provided a wonderful medium for the blade. The best shave in many weeks ensued and the classic BBS was the result. The Gris Clair just called out for the perfect finish. And today will be better than yesterday.
