Collecting coins is fun, especially at first when all worth and there are many different. Then over time you want the perfection and cost much, but encourages you to visit many markets and discover straights and razors too.

Rune came over with this razor he restored and rescaled for me, looks beautiful.
This razor is very hollow, and with great steel that took a Shapton 30k edge very well.
Jumped right into the top list of my best shavers.

HI Gents!! It's been a while, but I could not resist the 'hobby' themed week.

First, today was an all Old Spice day. Drives my wife crazy!!

The razor is Roy Boy's Gong razor, fresh off the buffers and stone. Today's shave with it was magnificent. Smooth as silk, sharp enough to split atoms. A great 2 pass shave!!!

Now for hobby week.... I have so many hobbies, Shaving, restoring razors, bowling, Camping + Fishing, but the one hobby that has persisted since childhood is music!

I live in a fairly small house so we have to be very judicious on what we include in the living room. My wife also loves music and plays the piano, guitar as well as the drums, I play everything in the room. I have a Squire Strat signed by Mike Burckett from Ghost in the Machine, a Takimini 12 and 6 string (I let the wife think the 6 string is hers), the 12 string is not out of the case. It is a vintage 12 string made by the master himself and costs more than my house does. Needless to say it doesn't come out very often, just special occasions. I also own a 1982 Hondo Model 766 which I have been told is the last survivor of the breed. It is featured in the Guitar Museum (online).

The electric drum set is to conserve space, and my huge Vox setup is out in the shed and only comes out when real horsepower is required, which is not very often these days. Otherwise my little Raven and my Rogue Chorus amps do the trick when I want to rock out. I love the blues, but any old rock and roll will do when company comes over (Clapton, Allman Bro's, Johny Lang, etc..) plus the oldies.

I can't very well get it all into one pic, so here is a few to cover the bases. Enjoy the week!!

    Yes!
Speedster spices up the SOTD to include not just coffee, but expresso.
Some may find this more important than a firm brush, a sharp blade or a warm lather; a fact not lost on Speedster.
Hats off to Speedster - your creativity is outstanding.

    Default Blugill inspired SOTD

I like fishing. The fun kind! Don't much care if I get a bite, just like being there. I also have a collection of some older fishing stuff. I really dig it! A nice shave with a Torry Swedish razor in salute to our lost brother Mark Colliau, AKA "Blugill" who was an avid fisherman. Some, if not most of you did not know him, but he was a card. A big ol lovable pile of personality and kindness. I still miss him. We learned of his passing one year ago today from Lynn in the "Hall of Rememberance" forum. Mark coined the phrase "Catfish Belly Smooth" in his posts here. A great fellow!
Here, also, is his last submittal for SOTD dated 5/31/11. How he LOVED his American steel and especially his Custom Torrey "Shark Razor"!
    Rest in Peace, Brother!
Plan as you will live forever. Live as you will die tomorrow.
    Thanks, Tom

Hard to believe that it's been a year. Mark's enthusiasm for SE razors inspired me to buy my first Gem. I now have 7 Gem's and a Rolls Razor, all thanks to him. I think it only fitting to raise a can of PBR in remembrance.
