Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: Simpson Chubby1
Razor: T.Noonan & Sons Gold Eagle 6/8
Honing: Chosera 1K-Shapton Pro 2-5-8-12K-CrOx-0,25CBN-0,125CBN
Strop: 50/50 Neil Miller Linen/English Bridle
Soap: Palmolive stick
Aftershave: L'Occitane Verdon
Result: Finally came around to hone up the Gold Eagle, took it all the way, it took a nice edge, but to be honest I think it might have been a little too much, it was sharp as **** but a bit too harsh DFS+ with a hint of burn. I'm starting three weeks of vacation in a little more than a week, and beinh the restless soul I am I'm bringing all my razors and hones and will rehone every single one and make a log. (I need something to do to not go on the nerves of everyone around me)

Today's face feast:
VDH Almond (gift for fathers day) whipped up in a 2 quart mixing bowl with some Sir Irisch Moos
24mm Custom Silver Tip
4/8 Kerry-Gow German Wedge
Aqua Velva AS
Cuba Gold EdT
An excellent shave from a great little razor. Fresh off the 12k it was smooth as silk and sharp enough to split atoms. Great start to a Tuesday Morning!!
Enjoy the week gents! 95 degrees and climbing here. 2 hottest days so far this year, and it's not even summer yet!! Ouch!

Well, here's some comic relief for the week, gents. Traveling on business, and I opted to travel as light as possible. Therefore, no str8s, DE, brushes, bowls, etc. Here's my gear for the rest of the week:
Schick triple track disposable
Barbasol travel size goo shooter
Bigelow 1585 barber's cologne
I had forgotten about the aromatic overtones of propane that come with the canned goo. Spent plenty of time massaging it in by hand and made two passes with the Schick. As much as I hate to admit it, it was a BBS shave with a finish worthy of faceturbation.
Cheers!

This is my first straight razor SOTD post!!!
I recieved my Dovo Silver Steel and Clauss USMC 6/8 from Lynn yesterday so today was my first chance to try one out. I had been practicing which inferior quality Pakistani forged blade for about a month, although recently while waiting for my Dovo and Clauss to arrive I have been shaving with DEs exclusively. So this isn't my first sraight shave, I just wanted to wait to post a SOTD until my skills improved!
The Shave
Pre: Hot Shower/ Apricot Face Srcub
Razors: Clauss USMC 6/8 & Gillette Red Tip (to touch everything up)
Brush: Kingsley Badger
Bowl: Vintage Stoneware
Cream: EJ Sandalwood
Post: Thayer's/ L'Occitane ASB
I definitely need practice but today's shave turned out really well!
