Razor: Sheffield "Chinese" razor
Soap: Nivea..euro blend
Mug: favored soup cup
Brush: generic 24mm mixed badger
Final pass: Witch Hazel
Aftershock: Alum block
Splash: Royall Vetiver
Thought I would try something different! I heard about Bay Rum final passes and tried the Witch Hazel. A great BBS in two and a final on Witch Hazel. The Vetiver did set the day off right!
The so called "Chinese" razor was made by many manufacturers and sold off shore. The characters on the tang are usually meaningless! I would peg the blade as about 1860 or so.
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

Thanked: 88Razor: 6/8 Hart Steel
Prep: Bald Frog Arabian Hookah
Brush: Rubberset (boar?)
Soap: Bald Frog Arabian Hookah
A/S: Joop Homme!
Result: A great shave
I wonder if this brush is boar. The color is sort of right, but it's very fine hair and very soft, with little backbone. It's also older than dirt. Despite the crack and the soft hair, it works and doesn't loose hair. It's actually a nice little brush.

After being dealt a lot of frustration lately, both in the shaving and non-shaving world, I managed a decent shave with the Invicta razor. Not a great shave by any means, the blade could still be fine tuned. I only had a 1k natural and the Chinese Natural, aka C12K or PHIG or POS, depending on who you talk to. Anyway, got the bevel set and did a 'progression' on the Chinese Natural. Face is feeling smooth and silky. Peace and Love to all. The edge on this razor is just incredible. I've used it 4 times and I think this evening was one of the best shaves I've had. The edge is just buttery smooth. I cannot say enough for this razor.

This razor always delivers. It's very special to me, as it is one of my first restorations over a year ago, and looks and shaves as good today as it did then. Very close, very smooth and extremely satisfying. An excellent shave today!
On the downside of this week gents!! C'mon weekend!!

Once again it has been a long while, this time it had also been a long while since a razor had found my face as well. Work has been hectic and being out in remote camp or dodgy motels (and early starts with late finishes) didn't inspire a need to shave.
But since I dragged my carcass back to "civilization" I figured the 3 week beard needed to go, and in two passes I nearly looked respectable.
The ERN 1166 did a fine job of the heavy work and the Spike handled the finishing touches. Still trying to find the feel with the little wedge but I do like the way it shaves.
Might have to relax now that the peaches are canned with a couple fingers of whiskey and some SOTD reading... Have a great week!
