Thanks Rene and all the others sent greetings.
It is no Willys, it is a JK we saw in Ft. Lauderdale (boatshow) in 2009 or 2010.

    Thanks Grant.
It is important to know a little bit more than the shaving gear about the people in this forum.
Most of us are friends already, some of my friends I met already somewhere in the world. It is a get together I think.
Yes, maybe some members think, writing about our thoughts is off-topic. But I like it.
    Thanks again friends!

    Unhappy 1st Refrigeration Shave

    Prep: 10 minutes of Proraso
    Cream: even more Proraso
Blade: fifth use of a generic from Martymart
    DE: Weishi Chrome
    Aftershave: Stephan's Alpine Menthol

Now it's even worse. Thirty nine degrees out with a good wind. The water fountain in the park has been shut off, forcing me to fill my modest rice bowl from my own water bottle. If I don't remember to bring all my gear and the full water I'll end up looking like a homeless person. Wet the ragged antique boar brush in all it's permanently splayed out splendor, applied the lather. It's not that bad because my hands aren't wet, yet. Ten minutes I huddled in a doorway to escape the cold wind. Leaves and dust could be blown into my tiny lathering/washing bowl. Didn't find any, however. I think I found a wind-null void, a valuable wetshaver survival tactic! Shave went okay-ish, fifth shave but guaranteed no nicks if I do it right. I'm getting more natural at shaving one-handed, holding a tiny Weishi travel case with teeny tiny mirror for shaving. It's the washing off the lather after the shave which was the most chilling event. Getting my hands wet and dripping water down my forearm, necessitating that I take off my jacket and roll up my sleeves. Brrrrrrrrr!! The menthol in the Proraso and the Alpine menthol is wasted on a morning like this, I could hardly feel the sensation separate from the bitter, hard, cruel, coldness of an early October Minnesotan morning. It's darker, too. Luckily my wind-void spot is next to the building's exterior light. I'm just glad I had enough water to thoroughly wash off the soap before the aftershave. If I can successfully shave in 39 degree weather with a wind like today's, I can probably go down to 32. I don't know how far I can go.

    Thumbs up

    FRIDAY

    Hot shower prep
    Razor: COSMO Germany 1900-1920
    Soap: Van der Hagen
    Mug: Coffee mug
    Brush: HESS #2 Germany
    Aftershock: Alum block
    Splash: TARR Romania

'Tis a pleasant sunshiny day and 41ºF / 5ºC here WI. Good for storage of food but a bit of a surprise to the human body. I didn't close the windows before bed last night! The wind is blowing and leaves are flying by horizontally. Oh yes; the shave..A very comfortable and close shave with a razor newly acquired from an antique store. The quality is good; and after honing it suits me just fine. No polish yet nor special attentions given.

Cosmo was a firm registered in Germany, USA, and Japan. It lasted till 1940 in Japan. I have seen fancy and workman's class razors of that manufacture. A good buy if found in fair condition.

The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!
