That's the only gripe I have with that razor. It's a flimsy and thin rubber grip.

That razor is amazing. I love the way it looks. It just sits there in it's porch rocking chair quietly ambling on about how back in it's day a good shave was the norm of the day, not the expectation. One of the reasons I like a bit of patina.
JeffR, fonthunter and baldy like this.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

Trying out my light box made out of cardboard. It works pretty good but I need a bigger box.

    Sunday Shave

Wade & Butcher 13/16 Bow Razor Black Horn
    Omega Pro 49
    SRD Black Latigo
    RazoRock King Louis Lavender Preshave/Soap/AS/Wax
    RazoRock Lavender EDT

My first shave with this razor, which I finally finished restoring yesterday. I tried to match the original scales as best as I could. I used Tagua nut, also called vegetable ivory, for the wedge, which shines up nicely and has an interesting grain to it, as well. It got a Norton 4/8 edge, followed by a Coti, then crox strop. I think I need to take it back to the stones, because edge near the point is less than ideal. That said, the shave was still decent as I mostly use the belly of the blade, which was nice and sharp. King Louis usually makes for a wonderful shave and today was no exception. Have a great Sunday, SOTD Brothers!

Great shaving with and old Myrurgia shaving soap. Very pleasant. Her perfume brings me good memories.

Nice work today, Gentlemen! A nice, but hurried shave and photo this morning with my newest shaver, an 1830's Congreve with a new tub of Razorock Classic (a present from my youngest daughter for my birthday!) and an old Rubberset brush, reknotted with best badger. The Classic is awesome! Slapped on some AQV and out the door I went!
Stropped up on Neil Miller's heavy Bridle, the old Razor performed quite well with 3 passes. A light trip back to the finisher should get it perfect.
The hurried shave was to get to the stadium for an NFL football game before noon gametime. The field-level ticket was a suprise from my other daughter's boyfriend. Man, what a crowded, noisy and jubilant crowd celebrating a (finally) winning team. Normally, I steer clear of crowds, but it was a fantastic experience!
Now, I have been there and done that!

May All have a GREAT week to come!
    Tom
