    Default A quickie shave today!!

    Hi guys,

Razor: Newly restored Kinsfolk Silver Steel Special (Thanks gssixgun), Newly Restored PJM (thanks again Glen)
Brush: 24mm Silvertip in Honey Locust
    Soap: RazoRock Fresco
Pre: Hot Shower, Rise Baby Face Gel Rub
Post: Cold Water Splash, Generous Alum Rub, Witch Hazel (Lucky Tiger)
    As: Old Spice
    Edt: Brut

Great scent combination if you've never tried it. They really go together quite well.

The razors were superb, and it was a real treat to shave with an edge I didn't make for myself. They were smooth and sharp, and left me with no weepers or stingers, and the alum confirmed that it was one smooth, comfortable shave. Huge thanks to glen for his efforts on my behalf.

Great smooth shave, and I can't wait till my next one!!

Have a great upcoming weekend folks,

    HammeR

First shave with my new Alex Jacques razor. Fantastic shave with a smooth edge. Cero irritation with this good balanced straight.

    Prep: Warm water on face
Razor: 1965 NOS Gillette Tech, all nickel
Blade: NOS Gillette Super Stainless Steel
    Cream: AOS Sandalwood
    Brush: AOS Fine Badger
A/S: Alum Block, Thayers Rose Witch Hazel, Clubman Pinaud

Result: Just received this NOS razor as a birthday gift, and used is this morning. It came in its original package with two Gillette blades in a metal container. The price on the package is listed as 89 cents. Third time using a DE, and it's okay, but does not compare to using a straight. I did manage a BBS shave with 2 passes. It was kinda cool opening this packaged razor and blades for the first time and using it. I wonder where this was for the past 47 years?

RazoRock S. Maria - Zebra Wood Silvertip - Chas Clements Extra Quality - Proraso

I've been wanting to try out the RazoRock cream since I got it a few weeks ago so decided to use it today instead of the QCS I'm trying to finish. I've got to say, this stuff is great. Nice thick, click and cushioning lather with no time at all face lathering. I'll definitely be buying more RR when I've decreased the stocks of soaps and creams I currently have.

The bad shaves DO happen. I'm curious though; was the edge OK when you started the shave?
