Well, I did not read this first hand. I was citing a website that was citing him. Now I cannot remember the website who stated this tidbit of info. It was a gentlemen's website dedicated to helping men take care of their hygiene, such as shaving.
Here it is http://sharpologist.com/2012/03/cold...shaving-2.html

Today a nice headshaving whit a BBS result
The prep was a headwash whit cold wather, the brush a custom 24mm silvertip & Macra Root shavingcream.
As said prep whit cold wather but hot lather that i make in my ZWKscutle, the combination cold an hot is fun.
The razor that i used was a 8/8 Abr Knyn, A little Le male splash and up we go.
Have a nice weekend

He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

Thanked: 247Fascinating...though, I would point out that cold water seems to make my skin stiff and to this end it would seem to make sense that it would be easier to cut the hairs....in this day and age we not only have easy access to hot water, but I bet our razors tend to be sharper. That surmised, we have an easier time cutting a limp hair on a soft face...and generally appreciate a closer shave than they may have been accustomed to in those days.
Not to say that guys dont get great results with cold shaving these days...but I suspect there were more differences in those days than JUST the temp of the water.
Sorry to go OT.
I will shave later, and it will be fantastic...and with warm water

This was a fantastic shave. Yesterday's shave was, to be very nice about it, not so close but today's shave was fantastic. MWF in any container is wonderful but I really dig the porcelain bowl, well worth the money. The older I get, the better I was

Nice shave. Felt like I was shaving with a straight for years. I am under the suspicion that Aqua Velva products need to breath a bit before use. Shaving keeps me going. I was na fundo da poço las night-the bottom of the well.
