Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Razor: Dubl Duck Special No. 1
Strops: Tony Miller
Brush: Nondescript badger
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Scuttle: Robert Baker 002 in Lava Slate
Shave: 3 passes, WTG/XTG/ATG
Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
A/S: Captain's Choice Bay Rum
Reading Material: The Anonimalle Chronicle. Possibly my favourite mediaeval chronicle (top five at least) and by far the best account of events in London during the 1381 Peasants' Revolt. Great fun.
Ran across a few Dubl Duck threads recently so I thought it was time to give my Sheffields a (short) break and bring 'the spalted one' back for a spin. This may be my favourite non-Sheffield blade and it gives consistently smooth shaves with relatively little irritation.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

For me, tomorrow morning's shave will be one of luxury!

My shave before work yesterday. Still can't get over how well this little guy shaves. Definitely the best looker of my meagre collection of razors.I'm a sucker for a stamped tail. Giggity.

Well, the moustache, soul patch and beard thing is growing back quite nicely now, I’m starting to look rather bohemian, a little French, so much so that I’m contemplating going for the full face unshaven look. I’m thinking about shaving only my neck for a week and seeing what happens. Very little is my guess, but one doesn’t know until one tries it.
The Wade and Butcher Special worked a treat, but I still haven’t commanded Mike’s natural soap, it’s not the soap, it’s me, I’m lazy, I’ve been spoilt by all those chemical laden creams…
The aftershave left me feeling a little greasy on a humid day; a poor choice. My skin is oily at the best of times; I think I’ll reserve the Madame Scodioli ‘Step Right Up’ for cooler months. Don’t get me wrong, excellent aftershave, but I’m very oily; you could fry and egg on my forehead on a warm day at the beach, and with this humid pre-storm weather I really should have gone with my first hunch being Bay Rum. I can’t really go past Bay Rum at the moment, which means I may become a Bay Rum aficionado…
(I finally got a picture's background to blend perfectly with the page background :-))
Razor: Wade and Butcher| Soap: Mike’s Natural Pine and Cedarwood | After shave: Mme Scodioli ‘Step Right Up’

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I didn't shave over the weekend, so it was really nice to wipe away three days worth of beard growth. Floid Blue after Jermyn Street is one of my favourite combos. I'll have to find a raplcement for the Floid when I run out of it (I have another bottle as backup for now).Keith

Love that plain Jane DD Special. Nothing fancy just does the job and takes an edge with the best of the rest I have. Yea, the shave was very satisfying.
