Thanked: 485Saturday
And what a cool Saturday it was. I wasn’t going to shave and then decided to anyway; a day spent indoor rock climbing with my 21 year old son was planned. The shave went well, the Burrell is a cool razor; I love the bluing on the tang; it’s a great guide for cutting in around the goatee with the heel. The O Melhor is almost gone, I love this cream; I wish it was more natural.
After a cup of coffee (hand ground beans; mocca pot) we drove to the climbing gym listening to The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Aaron wanted angry gym music; like Rage Against The Machine, but angry BJM was all I could offer. We arrived early and, as I was peckish, decided to go to the supermarket nearby for some sustenance. Two bananas and a punnet of strawberries later we were ready. We spent three hours climbing until we couldn’t hold on any longer. I’m hooked. We’re going to a bouldering gym next week.
I’ve always loved the look of climbing; I’ve always had good upper body strength. Of course it’s waning now, but I still had fun. I’ve been looking at climbing shoes and descenders and ropes and stuff. I used to love doing this sort of stuff in the army, and in caves, too. I think I’ve got a new obsession…
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 3227Pre - Alum block
Strop - 3 inch bridal leather
Soap - The Body Shop Macca Root
Brush - SOC 2 band badger
Razor - Carl Schlieper High Class 6/8
Post - Alum block followed by Thayers witch hazel
Stayed on the Macca root face lathering kick and just like Brylcreem "a little dab will do you" for a 3 pass shave. Still trying to figure out how TBS can come up with such a good soap but their synthetic brush is like shaving with a porcupine. Win some loose some I suppose. I haven't used my super badger Vulfix since getting the two Semogue brushes. I guess they are now my favs and I like both the 1305 boar and the 2 band SOC to the point where I could live with either of them as my sole brush. If the rest of the day goes as well as the shave we got her beat already. Have a good one.

It's a beautiful morning, even if I didn't shave...
He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

Sorry for my abcense lately, but things have been quite busy the last few weeks. Two weeks ago I was summoned for a meeting with the district manager. The company I work for is building a huge tyreshop, and they wanted me to run it, so I got 3 1/2 week to finish off everything at the place I'm now before I start the new job.
The SRP razor arrived yesterday was up for it's first run today, I'm very happed I jumped in on this, a great razor providing a smooth and comfortable shave
