What a fantastic shave. Cella is definitely a favorite. However, the jury is still out on Thayer's. I like it but for what it is, it's really spendy. Time will tell I suppose.

Default Sun November 11th - Sat November 17th

    Thursday, November 15
    Location: Heart of Dixie
Pre: Hot Shower, Nivea Face Wash, Nivea Face Scrub
    Soap: D. R. Harris Arrlington
    Brush: Panchetta 30 mm Silvertip
    Scuttle: SWK XL
    Strop: 3" Black Latigo benchtop
    Razor: Case Red Imp 6/8
    Astringent: Dickenson's Witch Hazel
    AS: D. R. Harris Arrlington

Happy Thursday everyone! Wonderful shave this morning. Two passes, almost BBS. It's been "NEWvember" for me the past couple of weeks. I received a number of great new aftershaves and have had a blast trying them out. I was a little worried about the Arrlington, I thought it smelled a little too much like Lemon Pledge, but WOW, it felt wonderful and the scent is fantastic! The Red Imp never fails to provide a great shave. Max brought it back to life -- polish, new scales, and honed. Only two days left this week, but they're VERY busy, but then the weekend and then a short week. Stay safe my friends.

Brush – Semogue 1460 Soap – Mitchell's Wool Fat Razor – 8/8+ Wade and Butcher in Horn Aftershave – Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar Cologne – Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar

Test shave with a big butcher. Shaved very well. I forgot how forgiving (any angle works) and unforgiving (mows down any skin imperfections) these big heavy grinds are.

    Pre - Alum block
Strop - 3 inch bridal leather
Soap - The Body Shop Macca Root
Brush - SOC 2 band badger
    Razor - Henckels Friodur 451
Post - Alum block followed by Thayers witch hazel

Never really gave Macca Root cream a go on it's own bur always in an uber lather. That was a mistake, this stuff face lathers real well and gives a very comfortable shave.

Very nice this week, gents. I've been so busy lately that I just pop in and look around when I can, but I'm still here. Hopefully when my datacenter and office moves are done, college has let up a little, wife has settled into the new job, and hunting season is over, I can find some time to take photos again. That and brew some beer; I actually bought some the other day! Oh, the horror!

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: Shavemac D01 knot
    Razor: Hachiken
    Soap: Castle Forbes, Limes
    Strops: Neil Miller
    Result: Very, very clean

This razor's a brutal shaver, very good, but if you use the slightest pressure you'll come to close ... This Shavemac was perfect for the Castle F cream and face lathering, very nice shave!

    THURSDAY

    Hot shower prep
    Razor: Torrey 9/16ths +
    Soap: C.O. Bigelow
    Mug: Soup Cup
    Brush: generic black badger
    Aftershock:none
    Splash: Walgreen’s Bay Rum (NOS)

I decided to do a bit of work recently and the Torrey, of good, if bumpy, steel and no pants, was a good candidate. A chip on the toe required a bit of rework and the scales were fun!
The shave? Very smooth but the edge is not quite tweaked yet. The other players performed with their usual teamwork and protected my face!

The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!
