Thanked: 480I'm Loved After All Box showed up on my doorstep today, with a an assortment of quality soaps. So a shave became necessary!
Hot shower prep
excellent bowl lathering with the Truefitt & Hill soap
Art of Shaving Badger brush
Left side of face with the F.R. smiler
Right side with the Boker cast steel
Both stropped out on my Koken Black Knight
moisturized after care with Oily Oley
Results were wonderful. First time I had used the Boker. It was one of those "Holy Smokes!" shaves!
F.R was awesome as well. Its actually sold, pending payment. But if payment doesn't arrive in 24 hours its being moved into the "keeper" pile.
Finished of the pampering session with a spritz of Armani Code, and went into town for a cup of coffee. Simply to show the world that a well groomed gentleman lurks beneath that grumpy exterior!

Location: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Haryali London Silvertip
Razor: Globusmen-Gold 37 4/8
Soap/Cream: Geo. F. Trumper Spanish Leather (sample)
AS: TOBS Jermyn St.
strop: SRD 2" black latigo/nylon
Result: BBS!
This one was a milestone of sorts. This was a barely tolerable edge upon receiving the razor, so I killed the edge and gave it a progressive honing. SUCCESS! I was able to work with the toe as well as the center of the razor for as complete of a BBS shave as I've managed to this point, with such light strokes as to suffer almost no irritation or stinging at all. The TOBS Jermyn St. was perhaps a bit of overkill - I could have just as easily used Skin Bracer complete with the obligatory double-slap and a "thanks, I needed that" with no burning sensation. I was quite pleased with the Spanish Leather from Trumper's; I find myself wishing for a sample of the matching AS... (I really don't "do" cologne or EDT anymore, as body spray seems to work better for me overall. Otherwise a functional after-shave is about as much fragrance as my brand of vanity will allow.)

Thanked: 485Saturday
Well, I must say I'm having a very enjoyable and active week of holidays. I've been indoor rock climbing, outdoor rock climbing, I've been to the beach and today I'm off to a family picnic in the botanical gardens.
Today's shave was with the Burrell Top Flight with Musgo real Orange Amber cream and Bay Rum and Whisky scents. Possibly a bit TOO much of the Whisky.
Oh, I also picked up a second hand coffee machine, and now I'm finding myself addicted to really strong espressos.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Semogue 830 Brush
Kyoku Aftershave Balm
Trumper Sandalwood Shaving Cream
It took me all day but I got the edge I wanted. I had to restart several times. I think in the process I learned a little something about my honing technique. The shave spoke loud and clear with a smooth sharp edge. I did not even use a finisher. Just a Norton 8k and some Crox. I am glad I went foraging for razors yesterday. I was about to buy some new shoes!!! Instead, I was pulled into the center of Selma, NC.From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

No shave today. Apparently the ebola virus is setting in. I called in sick and spent the day either sleeping, coughing up green stuff or generally feeling like ****.The older I get, the better I was

I tried shaving with my first-resto Red Imp. Ummm, yeah, that's why my SOTD turned out to be the Globusmen! Back to the hone, Red Imp! (I think I might have a bit too much spine wear. Gonna try a little tape to set the bevel this time...)
