    Hot Shower and Facial Scrub
    Vitos Pre/Post Cream
    Ford & Medley 333 5/8 Razor
Muhle Basic 1 Black Fibre Brush in Faux Horn
    Nannys Arabian Nights Soap
    Alum Block
    Organic Shea Butter
    Barbershop Natural Bay Rum
    Morgans Classic Pomade
    Fat Jacks Tash Wax

The razor needed a little touch up. This was the first time I have taken a 'decent' razor to the hone. 30 laps on a Purple Welsh Slate, followed by 100 on leather. A definite improvement although not as smooth as the professional job originally done. Prior to this I used diamond strops for maintenance of this razor. I am not sure whether the result was due to my lack of honing experience or the properties of the hone.....or a combination of both I did however have a close and comfortable 3 pass shave.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Last week I took a look at a new tent. Today I'll visit a dealer nearby. This tents come from Czech Republic...good quality -as good as Scandinavian tents- but half of the price.

    Tuesday

Very nice shave this morning. I decided on a nice iced cold water shave, it really is the way to go when the weather is hot, and I’m finding Mike’s Natural Shave Soap lathers really well with cold water. The Jernbolaget razor did its work with ease and the Floïd after shave went well with the pine and cedarwood scent of the soap.

As I shaved I listened to ‘The Thing To Do’ by Blue Mitchell and other tracks (thanks sashimi for the inspiration). ‘The Thing To Do’ is such a great track for shaving, in fact it would make a great track for almost any intricate little activity, like packing a suitcase for a train trip, I could just imagine it used as such for a 1960’s movie.

Hope you’re all having a good week so far. Mine it toddling along swimmingly….

Hi mad, can I call you mad? I'm no honemeister, but 30 laps seems a lot for a touch up. I've no idea about Welsh slate, but I normally only do about 10 on a Shapton 16k. Maybe someone with more honing experience will chip in?
