    Monday

I shaved with the Klas Törnblom this morning; I haven’t used this for a few weeks I think. Nice shave. The Body Shop Macca Root cream is of course decidedly TOO simple to lather, and the scents were, as is increasingly boringly common, Bay Rum, both of skin and hair of head. My beard is getting very ‘salty’ lately; as in more ‘salt’ than ‘pepper’. I really should buy the tortoiseshell moustache comb shaped like a woman’s leg I’ve seen and some tinted whisker wax and start creating an airbrushed sort of look on the beard; leaving some bits grey and dying other bits.

On arrival at the ‘cotton fields’ (work) I bumped in to ‘Fred’ who told me, based on the interest spurned by our last conversation about my boots, razors and cufflinks, that he has seen some ‘American’ guy on YouTube shave with a straight and thought it didn’t look THAT bad, so he’d shave with one of his ‘bush knives’ (I’m unsure what a ‘bush knife’ is) and it went OK. He wants me to suggest to him to a nice razor, I’m suggesting vintage to him, though the ‘American’ guy spoke of Dovos. I’m rather excited to be on the cusp of having three converts (my elder son, my daughter’s boy friend and now ‘Fred’)…

The heel end or toe end? Just curious, I use a lot of the heel end...

Shaving at one at night. Nothing can beat that. The whole house is quiet; the bathroom filled with the scent of sandalwood and the W&B stropped and ready. A great, relaxing shave supported softly by the tunes of Blue Mitchell on the trumpet (Step Lightly; 1963). Two passes to smoothness and a mental win over the cold that's been bugging me for the past three days. Here's to a great week of shaves.
That sounds REALLY cool. I'm guessing it's jazz music, but I'll look it up. Sounds to me you know how to relax. I think it's important to know how to relax. My wife says of I were any more relaxed I'd be dead.

Hey, I know it's very non de rigueur to quote oneself, but thanks for putting me on to this, I'm listening to 'The Things To Do' on the headphones, about ten minutes or so long, perfect 'shave time' music for the AM!!! Many thanks, Sashimi!

A very close comfortable shave was accomplished with the Le Jaguar this morning. 7 passes on the oil stone below produced a smooth sharp edge. There was no reason to strop. Have a nice week of shaves gentlemen.

I know I've posted too many posts tonight, however, I must say "cool setup". Cool everything...
