    Tuesday

Really nice shave with the Jernbologet this morning. My honing journal tells me I did 10 laps on the Shapton 16k on the 30th of December, which is odd, really, because normally I do 20 on the Shapton for my Swedish razors. Regardless, the edge is very nice at the moment. The Musgo Real Orange Amber did a fine job as always; I’ll need to get some more ‘flavours’ of this cream. I finished the shave with Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar after Shave. This was one of the first after shaves I purchased when I started SR shaving on the 6th of June 2011; before that after shaves were always Christmas or birthday presents. I think I’ll get ONE more application from the bottle. I’d like some more, it’s a really nice cirtrussy and strong after shave, very gentlemanly, but I would like to buy the Captain’s Choice Bay Rum first.

Tunes for this morning was Brazilian Lounge Music, reading was Tennyson, coffee was a cappuccino, coffee vessel was a Vintage French Coffee bowl, breakfast was porridge, tunes on the way to work was Bob Marley ‘Live at The Rainbow’, the lunch time workout was intense and heavy; I added 10 kilos to three exercises and did the same reps; the workout that commenced life at 40 minutes was squeezed in to 36 with a ‘stop watch timed’ 1.5 minutes between supersets. Each back set was supersetted with legs with no rest between.

    Today’s mood was ‘chipper’…

Prep: Hot Shower/ Proraso pre-post cream
    Scuttle: G5
    Brush: AOS Pure Badger
    Soap: Tabac
    Razor: Fromm 'Redhead' #50
Post: Hot water rinse/ Cold water splash
    Finish: Tabac AS/ Iggy's Balm
Result: Took this for a quick trip on the Naniwa 12k and was rewarded with an edge that ran through my whiskers like a fat lady in a candy store! Stropped on leather forty laps and what an edge. Coupled with the tallow based Tabac it was an outstanding 3 pass shave.

    Prep - None
    Strop - 3 inch bridle leather/hard felt
    Razor - DD Pearlduck "Goldedge"
Brush - Simpsons QE II Jubilee Manchurian badger
    Soap - DR Harris "Arlington"
Post - Alum block followed with Thayers witch hazel

A good cold water face lathered shave. I say good because it was not as close as I would like and I think the old girl is in need of a touch up. Hope your shave was just a touch than mine better today.

    Bob

Couldn't stand the almost there feeling so I touched it up on my Zulu Grey and Crox pasted balsa strop. Did one quick ATG pass and got rid of the last of those stubborn barnacles. Noticeable improved sharpness and smoothness.

The Manchurian Badger? Didn't they make a movie about that in the early 60's about a CIA mind control project gone horribly wrong?
