I wanted a relatively quick shave this morning, because I have to leave early for a deposition. So, I reached for the DE. Of course, my wife "cleaned things up" a few months ago. Since that time, I've not been able to my R89. So I broke out the R41 and a new blade Birnando gave me while he was in town. It didn't take me long at all to remember that the R41 is not a quick DE to use. Less than 30 seconds into the shave my face looked like I'd been fending off Kirstie Alley from the last Krispy Kreme in town. But I pushed through for a two pass that, unfortunately, left my face beyond BBS in more than a few places. The blood has stopped, though, and I'm off to my deposition. Do you think anyone will notice the cuts???

Strop - 3 inch bridle leather/hard felt
Razor - Modern Revisor shoulderless 6/8 with thumb notch
Brush - Simpsons QE II Jubilee Manchurian badger
Soap - Vitos Red
Post - Alum block followed with Thayers witch hazel
Wonderfully smooth and close cold water face lathered shave. This modern Revisor in their version of a shoulderless thunb notch design is one of my favourite blades. The only fly in the ointment, for me, is that the bottom of the notch is smooth and rounded making awkward for me to flip it when stropping. I would have much preferred a flat bottom with jimps. Takes and hold a very fine shaving edge so I won't complain too much. Hope everyone had as good a shave this morning.

It depends. If you are the one taking the deposition, then you'll forget about it as you get into your cross examination, whereas the deponent will probably be intimidated by your hacked face. If the other attorney is taking the deposition, you'll be sitting there quietly for a quite a spell, thinking too much about the fresh cuts on your face, and wondering if the court reporter is afraid of you.
