" Later that evening I went for a walk and chanced upon a Short Billed Echidna, who I said hello to, and who I praised for his neatly folded spines. "
Carl,
I'm envious of your adventure!! I'll have to tell my brother that you saw an Echidna!! He was over a couple days ago and mentioned that the Echidna was his favorite Monotreme!! I'm not kidding, that's what he said only a couple days ago. Your coast looks like some of mine down towards Half Moon Bay. It's a good thing you didn't fall off a rock!! A little injury can turn ugly when nobody expects you back for a day or so. You have inspired me to take shave tools with me next time I camp. I usually just forgo the shaving if I'm roughing it!
Thanks for sharing your trip with us!!

Great shaves to start the week and my three year anniversary here on SRP. I've picked up a few razors, brushes and other assorted things since then. I'll post up my shave later.

27th January 2013
Location: Milano, Italy
Prep: Hot shower + cold splash
Soap: Cella
Brush: Custom 24mm Silver Tip Badger
Razor: Stainless Steel Dovo 5/8 Round Point Ebony
Strop: Tony Miller 2,5" Horsehide Leather and Linen
Shave: 2 pass WTG/ATG
Astringent: Alum
A/S: Floid (Italian)
Needed a close shave today so I went for a two pass, WTG + ATG, and got a nice and smooth BBS.
XTG doesn't seem to add any benefit for me so I always skip it
What better way to finish a nice shave than my favorite A/S? Yeah, today is Floid day!--

Razor – FW Engels Special 6/8
Brush – Semouge Boar
Soap – Mike’s lavender
AST – ALUM
AS – Geezer’s Wheezer Bay Rum
Talc- Caswell Massey, Jockey Club & HESS Neck Duster
Not much to say about this razor, it’s good-un. I got to try some of Geezer’s home-made Bay Rum. I like it, and in a pinch it mixes well with Coke. I apply talcum powder with a HESS Neck Duster. Sprinkle a little on the bristles and tap it over the sink to remove any loose talc. Dust it on your face and neck to sooth and reduce shine. Smells good too.
