I havent used Ingrams for ages. The tube I bought today seemed 'runnier' than I recall. An excellent 3 pass shave.

(I'm so stupid:I've been shaving in the shower and didn't realize that after rinsing between passes the water in my beard was running down my neck. Diluting the lather and making 2nd and 3rd [sometimes 4th] runny. So my opinion of Mystic Waters men's products is improving. All I had to do was squeeze the water out of my beard between passes.

    Friday, February 15

Posting a day early. I have a BUSY day tomorrow and thought I would give everyone a preview of tomorrow morning's shave experience.

Pre: Hot Shower -- Nivea Face Wash
    Soap: MWF
    Brush: Frank Shaving Sivertip
Razor: Pre-1800 Clark & Hall (A Valentine's Gift From My Wonderful Wife)
    Strop: Linen x 20, Russian x 20, Tony Miller Old No. 2 x 10
    Astringent: Witch Hazel
    AS: Pinaud Clubman

My wife gave my this razor for Valentine's Day. I can't wait to use it. She know's how much I love historic/vintage razors. I usually a "Max Sprecher" guy when it comes to vintage/restores, but she knew I would love this 240+ year old razor. It still has the original scales. I'll let y'all know how it shaves. Have a great weekend!

I find the shape of the old razors (with no heel and a great sweep towards the toe) interesting. I thought it demonstrates a little the style of shaving back then, being I thought those big 'chops' etc and a lot of facial hair. However, on Googling "mens facial hair 1700s" I found the 1700s were for a good part cleanly shaven ones.

I can imagine this shaped razor being used with really only the first two thirds of the blade length; not the heel. Must get one one day to check it out...

I love the quote in the beginning of this page. I believe I'd like a great shout of admiration as well if I'd have been the 'one' of the people to 'undeceive them'...

[EDIT] the looks on those guys' faces is classic I think; so funny. I love the guy in the middle (Payne) and the one above him; they're hilarious, jolly funny!...

This morning, I did not shave at all! That has not happened in a looooong time. I just did not feel like shaving. Maybe I should start to worry ...
