No wild parties here though, just a nice dinner with the family, and a delicious Pavlova cake my wife made.
Happy birthday Grant! Nice looking Pav!

Though still really quite clean from the shave with the Rodgers yesterday, this one arrived at my home today after a much anticipated wait. When a razor like this arrives at your doorstep, you don't ask questions, you just shave...

Early morning shave, late post. This was a very busy day, but here's my shave from this a.m. The C.S. Bresnick Vesuvius razor, which apparently were made before Mr. Bresnick created the Dubl Duck razors, is the smallest blade I have at just a hair under 5/8. The largest razor I have is a Wade & Butcher 9/8. This Vesuvius needs a little more push than my other heavier razors, I think because it's so light, and my stubble is like barbed wire (according to my wife). Nevertheless, this razor holds a fine edge, and got me BBS with little effort. I finished with some Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna aftershave balm, and some Lucky Tiger on me. I think I smelled good, but who knows? Hope you all had and are having a great Wednesday.

    Strop - Jemico
Prep - Hot water + shave towel
    Pre-Shave - Musgo Real Glyce
    Brush - Dad's old brush
    Soap - Williams
    Mug - Newer scuttle
Razor - 4/8 stainless "Rex" near wedge
Post - Thayers + Nivea balm

Just finished restoring the edge on this razor, there is a thread in the restoration forum if you want to see the before picture. I like this razor. I'm as much of a Big Gnarly Sheffield fan as anyone else but there is something about this little razor that makes me feel like some sort of professional when I'm using it. It just flicks away the heaviest stubble so easily, with quick and short little strokes and zero irritation.
