The day: Clear and cold; snow later -14ºC. The Shave: Even with this great little 4/8ths professionally sharpened razor it was an up hill battle. I had tried two of mine and they didn’t really want to cut so I grabbed this known scary sharp blade. I got shaved and no skin off my face but “it was one of those days.”

The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

Been trying to get this razor dialed in for a friend and I think I succeeded this time. Wonderful Shave!

    Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Razor: A newly-arrived Soviet 11/16 half hollow "весна"
Hones: touched up on Zulu Grey
Strop: N/A - shaved straight off stone
    Brush: Whippeddog Silvertip
    Soap: Proraso new formula eucalyptus
    Scuttle: N/A - face lathered
    Shave: 3 passes, WTG/XTG/ATG
    Astringent: Thayer's
    A/S: Captain's Choice Bay Rum
    Camera: Fed-2 (Soviet Leica copy)

I have always been curious about Russian/Soviet blades, and finally got around to buying one which arrived today practically shave-ready. I touched it up on the Zulu Grey, lathered up, and was *very* pleasantly surprised. It shaved absolutely beautifully! If anyone know anything about весна razors, I'd love to hear it. Right now, all I know is that it's a great little shaver. I have a little collection of Soviet copies of German rangefinders, and figured I'd welcome my new весна to SOTD with a little something from home.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
