Nice Shave! I do subscribe to the belief that MWF is temperamental soap. If left neglected it will let you know by performing sub par. The past few days I have been using the Fat. Today I was rewarded with a better lather.Last edited by Mephisto; 02-21-2013 at 02:52 AM.

Strop - Jemico
Prep - Hot water + shave towel
Pre-Shave - Musgo Real Glyce
Brush - Vulfix Bristle
Soap - Williams
Mug - Green scuttle
Razor - 11/16 W. Hawcroft & Sons wedge
Post - Thayers + Nivea balm
Second time shaving with this razor, seems to be getting smoother. It is interesting how the cycles of stropping and shaving can really make a razor more comfortable. Now I just need to stop restoring new razors all of the time so I can have a few that are broken in

43rd Birthday, new straight and first use. Felt like a baby trying to whittle a stick with an axe. Shaved from sideburn to jawline on the right side and then continued on for a bit about the neck, WTG only. Once I tried to hit the cheek, however, the unfamiliarity of the instrument became too noticeable and awkward. Finished it all off with the trusty DE. I'll have another go with the straight on the weekend.

Yesterdays shave.
Prep: Hot shower with face scrub and face wash.
Brush: Plisson
Soap: Tabac
Razor: Bartmann 504 Manganese Steel and Bartmann 504 Silver Steel
Aftershave: Thayers Medicated Witch Hazel
I used both razors because I honed them just recently and wanted to test them both. The one with the Manganese steel (dark scales) felt a bit smoother. Nonetheless both razors did a great job. Will bring the light scaled one back to the hone for a little extra touch up today.
