Sorry you are feeling down Carl. If it's any consolation I chuckled at the good parts of your post. Keep up the good fight brother!

    Prep: Shower
    Brush: Thater 4125/00 2-band Fan
    Soap: Michell's Wool Fat
    Razor: Aubril 7/8" Quarter hollow
    Balm: Woods of Windsor
    Astringent: Osma Alum
    Eau de Cologne: Penhaligon's Douro

Notes: Face lathering with a good badger brush does help with MWF and I got a good lather using it.
I had high hopes for the razor, but I think I overhoned it. Still managed a mostly BBS shave, but a bit of Alum sting.
Douro is an odd scent. It starts off smelling a bit eastern and bitter, ends up flowery and citrusy. Complex and quite preferable to Quercus, which I don't like very much at all.

There were good parts??? You're really a glass half FULL guy. I sort of cycle between the glass spilling over in a beery frothy mess on the bar, with silly hats, and party whistles and the glass is bone dry, cracked and a little dusty, with tacky fingerprints. I don't seem to have a middle. I'm either crying at the sunset or ranting and raving at it while shaking my fist. Anyhoo, thanks for the words, I'm hoping for a gym day tomorrow, and if I come out the other end reasonably unscathed I shall feel like a king, a mightily God...

A bit of a boring shave this morning, I must admit I’m a bit less excited and obsessive about the whole thing than I used to be; not that it’s mundane, but I am less excited. It may be that my bad back that continues to plague me is bringing me down a bit…

Sorry for the boring photo, not really in the mood lately…

Sorry to hear about your back Carl, just a few words that may help you out, take it easy and I would advise you do not twist stretch or bend in an awkward manner no climbing, like you up until last year I had never spent a day in my 54 years in hospital, but last Christmas I prolapsed 2 discs in my back L3 and L4, talk about the most unbearable pain that I have ever felt, for 6 weeks I couldn't even bath myself or tie my own laces or dress, up until then I had never taken a pain killer, but after two lots of intravenous morphine Voltarol Trmadol I really started to understand how powerful these pain killing drugs are, just a word of warning like you I ignored the early warning signs and carried on doing things like bending and lifting heavy things and twisting your body when a few weeks rest would probably have sorted you out, take it easy Carl.
