Actually, yes, almost, anything below 25 is cold for me. Thanks for the comments on my post, I appreciate it :-)

Yes, they say they are tricky, but really I think it's just the hard Nordic steel; other than that for me it's the same as any other razor. My error was using the slurry; not sure why I did it really. I went the the drawer to get the honing gear and saw the little cleaning stone there and grabbed it. The slurry would have been OK if I'd done more laps after, maybe 20 or 30.

Anyway, I now know I need some RED ink to use in my dip pen so I can write big bold RED letters in my honing journal warning my self of my self's stupidity and what DOESN'T work. First RED message should be limit the stout intake while honing, second will be don't do random things.

A honing journal is a great idea, you know...

Thanks for the comments on the post :-)

Razor | J A Hellberg | Soap | Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorn| After Shave | D. R. Harris Bay Rum | Eau de Toilette ‘Whisky’ by Evaflor

Much better shave this morning with the J A Hellberg than yesterday’s fiasco. I’ve been without hot water in the house for four days now, and this morning I just HAD to heat some shaving water in the kettle for the shave.

It’s remarkable how much time I have in the mornings now that I have a very rapid cold shower.
