Razor | De Pews | Cream | O Melhor| After Shave | D.R.Harris Bay Rum
Got home from work about ½ an hour ago and the news on Bailey is he’s AOK. The chest and arm X-rays came back all clear. His fibula which is acting as his humerus isn’t growing but all in all we couldn’t be happier. Thanks for all the positive comments, it really did help me get through the day. Now on to the more mundane part of the post…
It was the end of daylight saving here yesterday, which causes all sorts of problems for me. I have just a little bit of OCD, so when it comes time to change my watch it causes me a LOT of grief. I have to have it perfect. No, you don't get what I mean. I mean PERFECT. I use the phone service thing to check the time, and when I set the time on the watch to correspond with the ‘beep’ on the phone service if it’s not EXACTLY right I have to do it again and again (and again). The minute hand also has to line up EXACTLY with the mark on the watch face. Last night it took me fifteen minutes to get it right. I was sitting there at the dining room table with my head in my hands cursing and shouting, and at one stage threw the phone across the table in frustration. My wife was having a WOW of a time being entertained by the whole thing.
After that, I kept asking, “now, what is the time REALLY, is it really six o’clock or five o’clock; or seven o’clock. This morning my alarm woke me an hour before it was supposed to (I was so confused), which is really annoying. I don’t mind waking up in the middle of the night with several hours to go before I need to get up, in fact sometimes it’s quite pleasing “excellent” I say to myself “another four hours of sleep!”, but an HOUR isn’t long enough to get back to sleep and who wants to get up an hour early?
So the shave was taken in a slightly bad mood. I re-arranged the order of my six straights in the two three-razor cases yesterday (they each have a ‘programmed’ day) so started off the working week with the De Pews, which used to end the working week. A change is a good as a holiday, they say.
The O Melhor cream is rapidly coming to an end, I have this tube for over a year, I think. This cream used to be a favourite of mine, before I went on the natural cream/soap path. I love the scent of this cream, just wish it had less chemicals in it.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Prep: Shower
Scuttle: Schwarzweisskeramik
Brush: Simpson's Best Badger Chubby 1
Razor: Dorko 12, 5/8" grooved full hollow
Cream: Castle Forbes Lime
Astringent: Osma Alum
Moisturiser: E45
Eau de Toilette: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
Notes: There is a certain ease to shaving with a small bladed, full hollow round point, particularly if the steel is a little stiffer than usual. Finished the edge on an Escher last night and it wiped off the whiskers well this morning. A little sting from deficiencies in technique. The edge was very good and held up well.

SOAP - TOBS Jermyn St
BRUSH - Kimson
RAZOR - J.A. Schmidt & Sohne
This is one of three razors i took around to John Morrison's for a honing day he organized on the weekend.
It turned out to be a very shave ready razor and I'm quite happy with the result, very close indeed.
