I was thinking the same thing. Lol.

We got some nice pics. Thanks for posting. I'm not sure a straight with a guard is considered a safety razor but why not.

Naa, it's not a safety razor. It's maybe a safer straight razor.

Well now...when you check what constitutes a safety razor, you get.

A safety razor is a shaving implement with a protective device placed between the blade and the skin to reduce the level of skill needed for injury - free shaving.

Doesn't say anything about how its held, or what shape it is.

Here are a few Flare-tip Gillettes. Yes, they are all different.

    Left to Right...
Black Handle, Blue Tip, Red Tip, Standard Flare Tip, British Flare tip #2, TV Special.

I know there are 2 or 3 more that I dont have that I must find some day to finish my Flare tip Collection. Hint, Hint.

I have a red and blue but I didn't realize there were so many different combinations.

Give me a full list of possibilities and I will have to look through mine.

What I think I havent listed or showed are two British made flare tips. These you can tell by the space between the tip and the handle and if it is marked with a single I (I)or a triple I (III) on the bottom plate. Also one was made that did not have the "Made in" logo. Plus two that were Gold plated. One from Argentina and one from England.

At least that's from my homework checking out the different sites. Finding these would be very hard to come up with.

My Red and Blue are a little rough but as I said, mine are user grade. And the guy I bought the TV Special from didn't know what he had. It can be identified by no horizontal lines on the handle like the like the blue tip.

Not sure but a Canada Made model might be out there too.

Somebody say wind up razor? The Stahly actually shaves pretty well, a bit of a pain to wind it after every pass though. The head can be cross-fitted to another standard handle ...

Nice. Never seen that one before. Winding with every pass does sound like a pita. Since it looks like a DE does it just vibrate? I don't see any way to have spinning blades.

It vibrates, then after about three minutes reverts to a very heavy, very thick-handled safety. The Patent is from the 40's, they were produced from then until the 70's ..
