Thanked: 14Part of the allure of collecting them are the vagaries of opinions ..:
In some cases they made it easy with a label on the case (assuming that's the correct New Improved) like the Bostonian (mine's about to turn 99 years old). The cool thing, aside from the superb shave that can be had from the silver plated New Improved, is that case ... the levers raise up the razor bed as the lid is raised ..

I did not know about this box. Very cool. So it kinda hands it to you. That is a nice-looking razor.
It's just Sharpening, right?

That is a very cool aspect of the box. I'm sure it makes you want to keep opening it just to see it pop up.
Also I must commend you. I can't remember the last time I heard the word "vagaries" used in a sentence.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

(If you see an issue with the dates please let me know. I've tried my best to get this correct).
I do have three more but forgot to add them to the picture. I figured this was close enough to show a few different models of the Gillette Tech Razor. I'm not done adding to this Tech collection as I know of a few more but they are hard to find. As Roy would say, Like Hen's Teeth. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 556I won this black anodized (?) razor in a giveaway from Fendrihan a few years ago. Don’t use it much.
It’s unusual head is open comb on one side and closed on the other.

My birth year razor is the first Tech on the list. When I got into Safety Razors I found a list of Gillettes and collected all of my Birth year razors. Only 5 but I got them all. Then I wanted more and started collecting the Flare tips. From there, it just took off.
The Open-comb/Safety Bar DE razor has been around for a while. I've never used one. But my understanding is it was made for the guy who doesn't shave often. He would use the OC side to mow them down, then the SB side to clean up. It's a cool idea. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 14The Dual Comb has gained some modern traction - Wolfman offers one .. I've never tried one, but then even with a bunch of adjustable razors I never change settings during a shave . Pictures borrowed from James' site

Im with ya. I set an adjustable the way i like it and do all my passes. I know some people like to dial it down each pass. Does it help? I dont really know. Cant remember to try it.

Changing settings mid shave makes things too complicated for me.
