Actually, I really don't look forward to shaving my face that much. However, since I've started using a straight razor, it has become more pleasurable. With a DE I had to shave everyday which made it a drudgery. Now, since learning how to hone and strop my razors to peak performance, I only have to shave every couple of days so it's tolerable and am starting to enjoy the results. It has taken me almost three years to reach this point of great shaves - finally!

All the years that I have been straight razor shaving, I can't ever remember not looking forward to the morning shave.
Real quality "me" time.

Thanked: 20I think I'm losing it.
I've been SR Shaving for six months now and I've acquired 6 straights and a rotation consisting of most of the soaps on Obie's list. The night before I shave, I find myself gazing at the razor I will use and smelling the scent of of the soap or cream I will use the next morning. I'm spending tons of time looking at use tube videos, going to vendor websites trying to resist another purchase and scouring this board.

Thanked: 220I always look forward to a good shave, but I enjoy it the most when I can dedicate my time to it. Weekend mornings are the best!

Thanked: 556After I’ve worked on cleaning up a new find or rehoning a razor, or getting a new soap or a new brush, I find myself obsessing about shaving with it the next day.
As mentioned by others, a SR shave is usually so close that I really don’t have to shave the day after - feels a little disappointing.David
