I had decided to try str8 shaving before discovering this forum and had the worst shave of my life, very bloody and I seemed to be pulling the hairs out rather than shave them. I believed that my new Dovo was actually shave ready, as stated on the coffin, so I went about discovering what I was doing wrong, thereby discovering SRP, this site is an invaluable resource and I doubt I would have stuck with my str8 were it not for the wisdom and patience of it's members. Also I doubt I would have tried some of the better soaps and creams, I now find myself thinking, before going to sleep, about my morning shave and which razor/cream I will be using and looking forward to it. In the past I thought of shaving as a chore, one I hated, but now I look forward to shaving and have shaved more in the past six weeks than in the year leading up my conversion (which the wife is VERY happy about). So to all the members and contributers of this forum thank you for all your help.

For me, it was after the fact. I purchased my first str8 razor honed by Lynn, and in my quest for knowledge, I found SRP. It has been an indispensible wealth of information.
Everyone here was so helpful, that it quickly became an addiction....We have assumed control !

SRP was what got me back into straight shaving, being a newbie I got frustrated and quit. With the help and advise here I have now got it down pretty good and starting to hone my own razors! Thanks SRP

If SRP didn't exist, I wouldn't be a straight shaver, so many thanks to everyone here for all of the help!

I found this site while looking for information on straights because I knew I wanted to switch. I got my first straight and my one and only strop elsewhere, but I'm not sure that it would have been a successful switch without SRP.

SRP was a factor after I saw Lynn on the news and found the Idea of Straight Razor Shaving intriguing. The site then helped me complete my decision, and I have been at it happily ever since that time.

I was already shaving with straights for some time before coming across SRP. Actually I was looking for some guidance in rescaling some blades and found the help I was looking for in the workshop area of this great site. I also found the wiki and the razor data base to be very informative and lots of fun.
