I'm in my late 40's but I've been wet shaving with a SE, brush and mug since I was in my 20's. I tried to use a straight razor back then, but had little luck without a resource like this forum. I'm a big history buff and love using items most folks would think of as "antique" and obsolete on an everyday basis. Been shaving with a straight razor for about two months and it's great to finally scratch that itch

Shaving with straights for almost 3 years now...I didn't keep track of when I did my first shave, so I can't be more specific :P

Actually.... if you're soon to be 43, then you are now 42... which is the actual answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything. You better look outside your window... the Vogons are about to read you some poetry.

I'm 27. I don't know why the idea struck me to shave with a straight razor. Maybe it was going to a barber where I used to live in Washington state who always did hot lather, hot towel and a straight razor around the edges and the back of my neck. Felt so nice. Maybe it was just the idea that it was a manly skill I should acquire, or at least attempt. I have to shave every day and it's already pleasing me to kick the Gilette habit.
