Well here's a dumb move. Decided that my straight was looking a bit dirty, so I got some Meguiars NXL Metal Polish (they don't do MAAS here, & I couldn't find the Autosol in Halfords). Worked like a charm until I tried to remove my finger.
It's deep & hurt like hell. That'll teach me.
On the other hand my straight is so so shiny (probably hasn't got an edge anymore, but that's what hones are for).
Excuse the blurry pictures, I was a bit shaky.

'New to me razor' this morning. Sterilized it last nite. Honed and Stropped it. Looked ok, sounded ok but I of course wasn't happy! Had to do do one of my midair slice that hair in half.
You guessed it right into my index finger!!(:-(.... Thank god for Barbacide.
Didn't even look to see how deep. Cinched it up with a bandaid hoping for the best.
Guess it was 'sharp enough'!
