I can believe how stupid I was. I respect the razor in preparation, maintenance and shaving. But I was stung, or rather cut after the shave had completed. All in all this has made me show better respect to the straight as I was becoming rather cocky at how good I was at straight razor shaving considering I am a complete novice...

    Respect the blade
Funny how fast an inanimate object, especially a sharp one, will remind you that it is to be respected at all times.

I am surprised reading here some shavers never cut themselves... It's become kind of a hobby of mine. Reading the posts the other day someone talked about cleating the blade on their forearm, well.. it bleeds less than the face..qed

    Cheers
So far the worst I've clipped myself has been a razor thin strip just deep enough to make a thin red line on my cheek. It's been a while since I've even gotten that. Usually I get it from getting into a rush and touching the blade to my cheek a little too fast with a little too much pressure and maybe a slight bit of motion lengthwise. I suppose it's rarely worse because the feeling of a cold razor blade prodding at freshly exposed nerve endings is quite unique and brings me to an immediate halt lol.

Do we need to send you a chair?? You are not allowed to leave the lathe. Just kidding .I hate toe injuries ,because with every step I am reminded of the accident. Get well soon hope you got Dads brush finished before you injured yourself. I know that is your pet project for the year, and I am looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Your only as good as your last hone job.
