Thanked: 3227Well, it had to happen sooner or later. Decided to hone a razor this morning and got distracted when I dropped my cheaters, reading glasses, on the floor. Bent down to pick them up and the razor I was holding bit me on my right ring finger pad. Got the bleeding stopped with pressure and paper towels then applied Polysporin, a couple of gauze pads all held together with a flexible adhesive bandage the wife got from the vets. The cut is only an inch or so long but bled like a stick pig and the blade was nowhere near shave ready at the time. No photos to post but I did get the blood off the razor to prevent rust. Have a good day and don't get distracted.

Bob, I had a similar thing happen to me when I wasn't shaving. I had three straights in my inside coat pocket that is sheer netting. I had carried them to a straight razor meetup.
When I returned home, I grabbed for them and somehow a toe or edge of the blade dug into my thumb. It took a long time to stop the bleeding. I tried black pepper, alum, pressure, ice, cold water and like you finally had to cover with Neosporin and guaze and taped pulled tight. Now three weeks later and I don't even see a scar. Good luck to you.

Well I always thought my first good cut was gonna be on my face, but I guess not.
I was in a rush to get ready for work and jammed my finger into my blade. This is after I got the bleeding stopped, and a couple coats of New Skin!

I was just having one of those days where the razor seemed thirsty.
The last shave I'd done was with a DE because it sits there, forlorn and never used. Well, my DE technique is not the greatest, so my skin felt a bit irritated and I put off shaving for a couple of days.
As I was shaving I noticed that I'd gotten two zits on my cheek that'd been hiding under the growth, but I also noticed that the razor just kept nibbling me. I got through my first pass (I'm a bizarro and do ATG then WTG -- don't judge me! It works fine on my face!) and started in on the cleanup pass when the razor takes a bigger bite under my right earlobe.
That annoyed me, but then I did a light, smooth swipe down my cheek and it just snagged one of those zits.
George Savage. Yup, definitely a savage razor. Sometimes I forget that while it looks like a big old smiling Sheffield wedge it shaves like a tiny, surgical Engels Leader. Bold strokes bring blood.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

Thanked: 10I have small scratches on my jaw line from my razor taking a bite. I tell people that I got to to a fight with my razor.
