My only shaving scar is from a Feather AC SS. No scars from traditional straights.

My barber is the only one that uses a shavette on me. I leave those to the ones with the two available hands and angle to wield them safely.
    Just my opinion..

I do think a person trained and using them on another is their forte.

I mean, when I cut myself, it would be nice to actually feel it?

It's not deep, it didn't bleed but a drop, however, it is the first blood drawn in over 6months.

Here' a little something from the movie 'Excalibur' I think it applies to when we suddenly draw blood after a long absence from it as they come when we least expect it.

"Merlin; Where does Evil lurk in my Kingdom"?

"Always where you least expect it."
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

    Aloha!

The next time I shave with a Shavette, I'll have something to share in this thread. If not a cut, then one of those nasty razor burns that look like a cross between a worm stuck on your face, and a deep cut that has been healing for a few months.

I rarely if ever cut myself with my straight razor, and once in a while I nick myself with my DE but that's rare. Shavette? Guaranteed. I'll have something to post here.

That's one of my all time favorite movies, Roy-Hopefully none of us ever get cut like Arthur and his evil son/nephew Mordred did to each other in the final showdown!

No pics, but I occasionally get a small slice up high on the cheeks. Now watch me filet myself tomorrow now that I've jinxed it!

    Default Ouch!

I seem to remember a cut of the day thread, but I can't find it, so please feel free to move this.

I had what was shaping up to be a really great shave yesterday afternoon.
I chose to use WSP Blackbeard so I could smell like a pirate and i was really enjoying my shave with my Barbers Delight.

I don't know why and haven't ever done it before but, instead of holding the tang as we all do. I slid my thumb up the tang until it hit the blade.

I haven't seen so much blood for a long time.

Since the time that i touched my table saw blade and had to get 14 stitches in one finger while crying like a little girl, my wife is tuned into my girlie screams and came up the stairs 3 at a time to witness my shaving gore show. Considering that our house has 5 levels and she was watching TV in the family room at the bottom she made pretty good time to the top floor where i was shaving.

She helped me clean up and spent almost 10 minutes trying to stop the bleeding while telling me to stop sniveling or she will take me to the hospital (that did the trick).

I can't shave today because it hurts too much to strop, infact I think i might need a home help and another handicap card for the car.

Anyway, no pics it didn't happen so there you go!

They do bite when given the opportunity.

The photo caused a sympathy cringe and a twinge in my own finger.
