Holy Crap batman! Nothing nearly as gory as the above butchering!
I nicked my chin yesterday. Nothing much, hardly more than a pin hole, stopped bleeding pretty quick with no attention. Looked fine/healed this morning.
This morning I go over the spot and it started bleeding, blood running down my neck bleeding. Styptic wouldn't stop it, multiple attempts. Got it cleaned up a bit with a wash cloth and went the direct pressure route. That stopped it but I was surprised at the quantity of hydraulic fluid that leaked out, the wash cloth turned the rinse water pink...I have never had this kind of experience before.

Thanks Phrank...I read that too and I keep a tube of it next to the styptic in my "quick access" shaving supplies drawer.

I've had cut which I would consider worthy of COTD, was with a razor that came shave ready, I knew it probably wouldn't be, but the excitement grabbed me and off I went. Nice little slice on the left side of my neck...thing bled in the bathroom, then stopped, cut then bled over my shirt before leaving, changed my shirt, got in car, driving, cut then bled again!!!
Finally stopped, felt like a fool, guess for me, that's when I learned the hard that when they say, "Make sure it's shave ready!" it's not just a suggestion!
Cheers!

Self surgery? Moving too fast and I thought I was gonna remove my chin. Styptic had a hard time clotting this one. Took a chunk of skin off.

You'll be more careful in the future I'd wager. Nice slice though! Looks like a few more hacks next to your mouth, on your neck, and to the left of the gash. Yeah you may want to slow down a bit and think through your pattern some more! Looks a little like you need to keep the blade more horizontal to your skin as well as stretch the skin tighter.
